My ping is 130+, but its playable, so im fine.

I like the bots when no one else is in there. Plus they bring people into the server.

My ping last night was hovering around 130 and it was definatly playable. Got plenty of headshots in carbaseus. :)

As you can see, the normal map cycle alters between TWHL and official maps. Remember that you can start your own map change poll with "amx_votemap [mapname]". If you're the only one in the server, you can change the map to where ever you want with amx_votemap.

I'm workin on a DM map specifially for the server
should be done in a few hours.
I'm using rim's method of just building archetecture with one texture, and then going back and re-texting later.
It's working.
But i just lost about 20 min of work, i crashed hammah

I'm working on a new DM map. Got myself some Quadrille graph paper especially for the occasion. :)

Also, don't forget about the custom TWHL member player models. The current zip contains Urby the Grunt, Hitman Huntey and Professor vs49688.

(if you do not have these models the players using them show up as orange HEV dudes)

Remember, if anyone wants a custom DM skin/model made just let me know. I can use facegen to add your actual face onto one of the PS2 DM models as well if you please.

If you want a model with your face you need to choose a body:

Scientist, Security, Hgrunt or HEV.

I also need a 2 photographs of your face (1 from the front and one from the side.) Photo's need to be straight on with a blank expression (expression of your choice can be added later) and no hair, glasses or other objects in the way of your facial structure (again, these objects can be modelled on later if you so choose.)

Also, I can't model hair all that well so you may have a hat. :rly:

A few notes:
I just moved the server to Dallas. Australians should see a slight improvement in ping.

I'm looking for a replacement bot for HPB, since it's so buggy and generally stupid. I've stumbled across a very smart bot called "Parabot" that engages players in a much more convincing manner. They'll strafe, jump, take cover behind walls to reload, etc. And they move. A lot.

Edit: They also supposedly generate their own navigation files by "exploring" the map over time and pick favorite routes.
And they don't like to glock spam

My map's done! - Well a beta release anyway. Got some easter eggs in it, and everything's wadincluded. Running the full compile now. It'll be in the vault shortly.

Yeah. I say beta release only because I have no clue how the gameplay is going to work out. Some open areas, some closed areas. Lots of verticalness.

The server's been back up.
The IP changes with it's location, but the DNS stays the same. Add it to favorites again by the same address.

Actually I just joined again before when there were no people and my ping was 170. I think that maybe it gets worse if the server is full. (or something was sucking my bandwidth)

Nah, it was just a bad location. 8 players bottlenecking bandwidth happens on weak servers, I mean like single core 55MHz weak.
Our server, along with a few others, is hosted on a quad core machine that barely sees 1% CPU usage on a bad day. Seriously, I can monitor the system that the server is hosted on.

Those bots are RETARDED on Sancefar.
They all stood at the tops and bottoms of the tower ladders trying to crowbar eachother.
And they would jump-strafe off the cliff when in a gunfight.

I'm trying to work out some stability issues with parabot. They're fantastic until they crash :|

NFO reduced their price on Goldsrc servers a little bit as of yesterday. I can add another player slot for the same price that we payed initally.
Yeah, it's 9 players, but it's a free player slot and I'm not getting refunded for the difference of the new server cost.

Well you're getting more stuff for the same price. That's pretty fantastic.
I was also wondering if you have special slots in there dedicated to TWHL members.

Lets say there's 5 TWHLites and 4 regular random peeps and another TWHLite joins in.

Well server's full but the TWHLite REALLY wants in.

Are there reserved slots? so can we kick a random out and let the TWHLite in?

Another issue with the bots is that they can see through the vine tunnels in poison garden.

big_city is ugly and clearly the work of a newbie, it should be removed IMO.
We decided to play in teams but it didn't work, I wrote amx_cvar mp_teamplay 1 and changed map. Once the map had loaded again mp_teamplay was set to 0. I think if you remove mp_teamplay XXX from all configs admins would be able to turn teamplay on/off.

Edit: Oh, you made big_city... well, you were a lot worse mapper 6 years ago.

I once made a Counter-Strike map using only the sky texture. big_city most definitely not the worst map I've played. It can't be compared to WC's more recent maps, anyway.

I actually don't mind DM maps if they're ugly but play well, but big_city doesn't play too well. You literally spawn in the most exposed position in the entire map.
