According to some people the latest driver from ATI should allow people to select in the 3d-view again: http://www.chatbear.com/unity2/12/589,1263979479,28753/1081701?v=flatold

i doubt it. Most mappers faced with the problem were forced to make the move to Source, which after time they found to be far superior.

Going back to pre-input/output entities makes me ill

Doesn't work with my driver, even though it says it's up to date. Bugger. ._.

This is why I've always bought nVidea cards. Usually more expensive? Yes. But much better than most cards except the super-duper cards

Are you kidding? ATI completely own the mid-range market and now that their 5800 series is out they own the top range too.

Also, what do you mean "this is why"?

This thread is about them solving a problem.

Ok sorry, I haven't really checked much lately as I haven't upgraded my laptop for about 2 years, I didn't realize ATI have been improving. We always used to have problems with ATI cards many years ago, which I suppose has made me slightly biased. Sorry...

And I was referring to the issue in general, sorry again

Soon, Nvidia will own the market. At least the high performance range.
They'll soon release Nvidia GTX 470 and GTX480. With support for DX11 of course, CUDA and PhysX.

Now I don't know if I should look at graphics cards again...
