Hey there, so i had little bit break from using hammer editor, and i decided to get back into it, i wasn't good with it anyways, so im using couple basic prefabs to make my life easier, one of them is rotating door, but i got question, how the hell am i supposed to make it locked, i searched google and i couldn't find anything, your help guys would be much appreciated!

If i'm not mistaken giving doors a name should make them play the locked sound.

Edit:
Aye giving the door name "Locked" did the trick, thank you for your help, sometimes its easy to forget basic stuff!

I think giving it a master makes it locked. Giving it a name just makes it trigger only but not sure

If a door has a name, it automatically becomes openable only via a trigger of some kind, even if there's no such trigger connected to the door on the map. So if you give the door a name, no matter what name, it'll become impossible to open by just bumping into it.

If you, though, want to make a door that can be opened the usual way or by triggering it remotely but that has to be unlocked first then you'll need to use the multisource entity. There's a tutorial about this kind of doors here on TWHL, so I recommend you to have a read through it.

All the guys above are correct - any name will prevent the door from opening unless triggered. I picked up a convention of using "nevergonnaopen" for all locked doors from one of the HL1 SDK maps to ensure they never get triggered by accident.

...or in the case of a func_door_rotating which would inflict damage when blocked "nevergonnaturnaroundandhurtyou"

"speedrunners often use a specific door in surface tension to increase their health into the thousands"
