Ah, Jackface. I look forward to many of those in the finale. Which come to think of it, is going to take me about 5-6 damn hours to dow.. watch on TV, once I get home.

Stupid work cutting into my important activity time.

The end is epic. That is all I will say until the Aussies get a chance to see it. I mean, really epic.

"You have permission to cry" epic.

Lucky 7s.
All attacks do 7777 damage as long as the 7s are present.

The end has been described as everything from "epic" and "total cop-out."

Two extremes. Just like everyone's opinions on LOST. You'd be hard pressed to find someone who has seen it and doesn't either love it or hate it. :)

I've seen it and thought it was meh. WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?

I'm very much 'on the fence' with this show, and it's ending particularly. There are parts that seem pretty brilliant, and parts that are just sloppy and tacky.

I don't want to spoil anything, but this was almost 100% a character ending, which is well done (except maybe the final reveal), but when they spent so long also developing the mystery and mythology, it doesn't seem right that they just dropped that side of it all. It feels like half an ending.

I don't watch it and don't intend to start. All I know is that there's a hobbit in it.

No, he died in season 3.

Well, I must say, this last episode was really emotional for me. It had me at tears on several parts.

I liked the way it ended, though I do want to see some sort of spin off / information thing explaining a lot of the other ideas they never explored. Like Walt, the numbers, etc.

"I do want to see some sort of spin off / information thing explaining a lot of the other ideas they never explored. Like Walt..."

I'm pretty sure he was just annoying and they decided to write him out. He certainly left loose ends, but his character felt more like a bundle of scrapped ideas in the end. In the beginning he had a lot going for him as a major character, and there was a lot of mystery surrounding his "powers" and such, but I think the writers must have decided that the other characters had much more "meat" to their stories. On that same topic, what bugs me to this day is the touchy-feely romance of Rose and Bernard that they played out through so many episodes and in the end served no real purpose. All the space and time that they occupied during the show could have been put to much better use filling out other characters, such as Walt.

Anyway, it's unfortunate that the show had to come to an end the way it did, because it really made me nostalgic for the days when the characters went roaming around the island, constantly discovering new artifacts and mysteries. I'd say that was the pinnacle of the series, when there was still so much opportunity for a diverse and intriguing plot line, so many possible branches of stories yet unrevealed, it almost seemed like it could go on forever that way. And that's the mark of a good show, when you never really want it to end. But then they practically did a 180 degree turn and ended up destroying much of the intrigue and mystery in the process. And that's the point where I decided the series had better be done soon.

Oh fucking Wall of Text.

I agree with that, srry. When they were just about done with the Others and DHARMA mysteries, they should've spent some time tackling the larger mysteries, about the island, the Egyptians, things like that.

Instead, we got a [SPOILER!] terribly useless final season that could only provide a happy ending through a whimsical limbo universe they introduced last-minute. [/SPOILER!]

I kind of feel like kicking myself for realising where this would go when moving islands and time-travel became a major feature of the show. Oh well.
