Question for you:

I'm rebuilding Super Matt Jordan and I can get it to run in full screen natively, combined with my 16:9 widescreen res, it looks really sexy.

But how popular is widescreen, or a 16:9 aspect ratio?

And no, I cannot change the game's resolution from within itself. :/

Isn't it the most popular aspect ratio nowadays? My android is also 16:9 (1280x720), does your game work on Android?

I'm playing some PSP games on my android with an emulator and I like the fact that the original aspect ratio of PSP is also 16:9

I'm probably the only person left with a 4:3 monitor, which I don't even use much because my laptop already has its own screen. I still think it would be reasonable to allow people to use either aspect ratio without much fuss.

16:10 is not uncommon for PC monitors either, but I would say that 16:9 is the majority. The Steam hardware stats are probably a good indication: http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey

16:9 is everywhere.
Even my windows(real windows) have a 16:9 aspect.

As Pengy says, 16:10 is also very popular.
Many laptops and monitors use this resolution.

Pretty much its down to 16:9 and 16:10 in majority. 4:3 is in rare cases.

I've got widescreen on my laptop, and on my desktop/secondary monitor.
(1600x900 and 1920x1080, respectively)
