Hi everyone, Skals / Albert here.

A few months ago I made a post about me being in my final year of Uni and apologizing for not having spare time to go on TWHL and such.

Well recently I finished my Uni course - Games Design BSc Honours degree, and I got a first in it, yay! - that's like an A basically. So now I'm a graduate :)

Also I've managed to land a job at TTGames -
and I've worked here for almost a month now.

They only make LEGO games atm as they're owned by Warner Brothers, but everyone here is great and I really like the environment I'm working in.
I'm only doing a QA testing job, I test the games, look for bugs etc. so it's not the most amazing job, but I get to work hand-in-hand with all the developers, and it's a stepping stone for something bigger so I love it.

With work and all I still don't have much free time, but I wanted to pop in and thank you guys for putting up with me for the last 6 or so years,
because you guys at TWHL made me passionate about designing games and helped me improve loads and get to this point. Thank you all :)

You have to start somewhere, and every one starts small :)
Bug testing is the most common intro page to every programmer and designer in the game industry today.
I am sure your contributions to the company will make it a better place, and in the future see some of your works public.

Good luck!

QA is a rather thankless task, unfortunately, but I do think you'll be able to turn that into something great.

The LEGO games are great, too. :D

Congratulations and best of luck!

QA? I've read stories... still do in fact: Tales from the Trenches is basically about QA, and their archive contains stories submitted by testers.

That said, it's definitely a foot in the door and I wish you all the best with it. :D

Good to hear from you again.

Hello Albert!

Congratulations on finishing Uni and getting out! Well done, mate! And that's like a double whammy getting that job, good work! Even though I don't know if it's anything big, but as the Wise Stojke said; it's a start and the beginning! Honestly, I think it's pretty cool that you've been able to lad that and it's something you sure as hell have to be proud of!

Perhaps, we'll see you around soon or something and no problems, though I didn't really put up with you or help you, that's what a community is for; help, support and encouragement! All the best for now and for the future, Albert!

Best Regards,

Congarats on graduation and getting the job! Their games seem pretty ok, but alas, mostly for consoles.
Good luck with your carrier and scoring your dream job, unless you`re planning to work at Ubi. Then, i'll hate you. Nah, just kidding...Maybe...
Keep us posted!

Very excited for you and your well-deserved success mister Skals, CONGRATS :P

If you ever wanted to go in on a CEVO joint entry or something, I have tonnes of ideas, but not the proper knowledge of CS and layouts to make them work correctly...

Wish you the best in your future endeavors!

I'm sure you too suffer the disease of too many great ideas, and not enough time to ever explore most of them in a meaningful way. The older I get the less I obsess about that, and the more I just have fun with whatever I happen to be working on at the time.

A bit late, but congratulations and good luck!
