Instant Mix Instant MixTitle commitment issues
Nice little life update for Autumn 2016:

1) Finally managed to get into 3rd year of Physics
2) Unfortunately know only 1 person in the entire year, so it'll be like 1st year all over again
3) Have been trained and have DJ'd a couple nights at my Student union, can now ~bend the truth~ that I'm a professional DJ
4) No longer part of any of the musical theatre groups because I don't want to have to repeat another year of university, but still doing publicity work for them
5) Girlfriend split up with me 3/4 of the way through summer, last few months have been some of the worst I've ever experienced. Having a constant feeling of dread / melancholy /emptiness for months at a time is absolutely horrible. Was probably for the better, but I've lost my closest friend.

Good to hear from you mate, and overall it sounds like things are on the up! Sure you only know one person in the year, but you'll make new friends / connections for when you're finished.

Also, break ups suck, but you've gotta think of the opportunities you now have for future relationships. Not what you want to hear right now most likely, but in time... yeah. :)

Looks like it's all up from now on. Sorry for the split up. How many years of college do you have left? And what do you want to do after that? (physics sounds very research-oriented)

Long time no see!

1- Cool!
2- This is not a problem. Go there and make new friends!
3- I'm sure a lot of people do that so...
4- What do you mean repeat?
5- Even though it's for the better it sucks. Your life will suck for a year or so then you will be fine. Just treasure the good memories and forget the rest. You surely learned a lot from it.

Repeat is when you don't get good enough grades at your exams/assignments and you have to do the same year a second time, I think.

I think he's asking why doing those things would cause him to have to repeat.

It was a huge time commitment, that would be much better spent actually focussing on studies rather than spending 6 hours a day 3 days a week rehearsing.
Cheers for the positive thoughts guys!

Striker : Depending on how well I do this year, I either have one or two more years. My degree is Computational Physics, so it's quite heavy on the coding and analysis side; we've a quantum computing project this year that I'm fairly excited about. I don't think research / academia is the correct path for me, but the skills I'll learn would hopefully make me fairly good at data analysis or modelling of some description.
