Yay! Happy B'day to him. It's been ten years and, still, a lot of people still map for it.

He must feel so used.
EDIT:
Damn you, mystery hijacker!

Oh my god , it looks so fabulous !Looks much more better than hl:source and I think it's better than hl2 itself.

Congrats, Half-Life!

So Black Mesa is not dead yet. Good.
Commented 15 years ago2008-11-19 12:46:46 UTC Comment #98848
Dead? As if :D

Amazing level design as always.

I can't wait to see some xen screenshots.

their level designers continue to amaze me

Level design is awesome.
Commented 15 years ago2008-11-19 20:11:10 UTC Comment #98852
10 years? Wow. I guess the release of my level was timed perfectly... :-)

Looking at what they've done with BMS really makes me want to switch to Source mapping...
Commented 15 years ago2008-11-19 20:30:21 UTC Comment #98853
98 cents? Damn, I thought that audiosurf deal te other week was awesome.
Commented 15 years ago2008-11-19 22:09:18 UTC Comment #98854
My post keeps growing. That can't be natural.

Tetsu0: I don't think they plan on releasing Xen screenshots, they want that to be a whole new experience. Something tells me they're really fixing up the crappy platformer elements.
Commented 15 years ago2008-11-20 07:27:15 UTC Comment #98855
Good god, that's cheap.
Commented 15 years ago2008-11-21 07:02:17 UTC Comment #98857
How did I miss this new post!? Just checked the BMS website by chance.

Now I have to change my underwear...

...because I came in them you see?

Happy Birthday Release version 1 of Half-Life. I'm sure the next 10 years will be just as grand.

Ancient WON installation ftw!
Commented 15 years ago2008-11-22 10:31:52 UTC Comment #98859
Definitely buying HL. Been planning on doing that for a long time. And now is a golden opportunity to do that.
Also that BMS update is fucking awesome.
Commented 15 years ago2008-11-26 06:25:10 UTC Comment #98860
spag i agree. since last time ive entered that site they've got so much more content done. man i wonder who makes this stuff and do they get payed. they could make serious money out of that mod

Edit: and oh yeeah, co-op will be really awesome!
Commented 15 years ago2008-11-26 10:45:49 UTC Comment #98861
Do not get paid, they are all devoted Half-Life fans. What they're doing is simply MASSIVE, so it must really suck for them the amount of abuse they get for taking so long.
Commented 15 years ago2008-11-26 11:27:01 UTC Comment #98862
paid*

Commented 15 years ago2008-11-29 21:11:15 UTC Comment #98864
I'd never spend that much time on something which I myself wouldn't profit anything from. They must really be hardcore fans.
If they stop I'll go mental

.. you mean more mental. <3

That crowbar animation looks bad in my opinion. Needs more power in the swing. But the rest of it was awesome.
Commented 15 years ago2008-12-01 01:07:01 UTC Comment #98867
The Valve guys put a ton of thought into getting the crowbar in half-life 2 to feel perfect and lets face it, it does.

The BMS guys should have just tried to get it as close to the HL2. This one looks too slow and wimpy.
Commented 15 years ago2008-12-01 05:32:10 UTC Comment #98868
They've had a few complaints on their forums about the crowbar, I have no doubts they'll get something people are happy with.

Video is so damn awesome.

WIN TRAILER IS WIN.
Watch it in HD - the scene with the tentacle monster is AWESOME.
Commented 15 years ago2008-12-01 06:52:05 UTC Comment #98870

Commented 15 years ago2008-12-01 09:03:27 UTC Comment #98871
I can't get over how many people keep saying "I can't believe they won't sell this" or "Damnit Valve buy it off them" etc...

These kids are gonna give them ideas damnit XD
Commented 15 years ago2008-12-01 11:09:06 UTC Comment #98872
Valve won't buy it because I think that would be very impopular.
Commented 15 years ago2008-12-01 11:49:09 UTC Comment #98873
Haha listen to this guy on GT forums:

"Yes, it's called Black Mesa: Source. It's the whole fucking point. Y'know? Black Mesa... in the Source engine? Even their website fucking says so.
Also, there is no such thing as Orange Box engine."
Commented 15 years ago2008-12-01 11:53:18 UTC Comment #98874
Sweet God. Most epic 2 minutes ever.
Commented 15 years ago2008-12-01 13:54:53 UTC Comment #98875

Commented 15 years ago2008-12-02 07:45:17 UTC Comment #98880
Wow! This is the way Black Mesa was meant to look! (and what Half Life: Source failed to look like)

That vista scene at the end, from Half-life's "Surface Tension" looks like win to me, I cant wait to see what that looks like in the game.
Commented 15 years ago2008-12-02 14:56:47 UTC Comment #98881
Half-life is still very much alive, this is going to be epic. Or atleast i hope so, otherwise i deny ever having said that... YOU CANT MAKE ME ANYTHING
Commented 15 years ago2008-12-10 02:48:51 UTC Comment #98882
Trailer is really nice. I'm glad to see the project isn't dead. Hopefully they can deliver earlier in 2009 rather than at the end or beyond or god forbid never. We've been waiting a long time......
Commented 15 years ago2008-12-10 05:14:26 UTC Comment #98883
I must be the only person on Earth who had complete confidence in these guys BEFORE this media release. Everybody else use to think they were dead, or close to it. D:
Commented 15 years ago2008-12-10 08:43:46 UTC Comment #98884
I didn't know about them until you posted this news post back on HL's birthday.

Just slap me with a fail sticker now.

When I first found out about it (2 years ago I think) I just had to listen to the music on their website to know it isn't going to fail.
Commented 15 years ago2008-12-17 00:59:46 UTC Comment #98890
