Just a quick map to show a good way to incoperate a flood into your map. When you press either red button, the grating in the corner closes, and the water rises. Press again to open grate, and allow water to drain away. ...Exciting!! lol.

PS. sorry for the lack of VM, but didn't have time or energy and its only an example map

It doesnt really matter... it looks really wierd when the "waterfall" keeps falling INSIDE the huge body of water :/

yeh, i tried a func_wall on concrete goind up with the water, and it worked, but looked weird.

You could make the flow a func_door, moving up slowly with the water level.

With an animated texture and playing with the fx settings, you might be able to make it look like flowing water as well.

Good point. You could use renders with multiple sections, like the progress bar in my battlefront turret map--though when I wrote those comments, I didn't realize what you were talking about :)
