I wish unity wouldn't screw with my models.

Anyway, I need to be done with this if I am to enter it into the Scotch and Coffee Islands competition.

What is it? A source engine map, goldsource, or something entirely different?
Would we need any programs to run it?

Twas alright. How long did you spend on it? Lighting on island could have been better, did you use a lightmap?

How does Unity screw with your models? From what I saw most of your models lacked some nice shaders.

Unity Free gives you no shadows, shitty shaders, and limited everything. Its the best I could do really. Plus there is something wrong with the terrain feature, that's why the trees are really bright.

Really nice. The only things I didn't like were the water and that the grass doesn't show up from a distance, but I'm guessing there's nothing you can do about that.

Well the shaders aren't all that bad and I didn't find many limits when working on my level. There are custom third party tools for making the terrain lighting better.

Nice work, Rimrook. This 3D scene is a lot more expansive than I would have imagined. You know, I was thinking about something, but let me ask you this first: Besides saving this scene as a Unity model, does the Unity editor also gives you the option of saving the work in any other 3D format like .3DS, .OBJ, .X or any other industry standard format?

The reason I ask, I'm curious to see how this Scotch and Coffee Island of yours would look like as a scene running inside a full screen Java applet, just like the same way I did with Captain Terror's "StarCraft" map, like shown here:

I can also check to see how it would fare as a X3D virtual world.

@Tito: You only import into Unity, not out. I have max files for most of the models except the trees and plants, those came with it.

@Zeeba-G: Yeah Unity is rather fun if you're a modelling whore. I did the car in 1.5 hours last night, plopped it in and submitted it pretty much.

I forgot to reset the starting location so that's why you start on the road.
Also, I didn't clip it off so if you walk out into the ocean far enough, you will fall into oblivion, but its a long way out there.

A LOT more detail was going to go into this, like a mini movie theater in the cabana, a hot tub, traffic light on the roadway with signs and stuff, more rock props, etc. Time ran really short.

My next mini project will be a game I think. I have some stuff to play with though.

If you need help with it let me know, I was thinking of making a game on gold anyways. If on unity, I can't help :(
