UPDATED: Smoothed out the camera so its not stuck on the player. Also removed how the player can push objects. Better for placement and various tasks.


A short demo of my new game.

Controls are tranditional.
A = Left
D = Right
Space = Jump
Left Click = Telekinesis
Wall-jumping is also an ability the player has.

This only consists of one short level.

played around in it a bit, it's good fun, but I found an exploit with the box where you can hold it under you and jump on top while moving it upwards.

I found a way to get a box stuck in a pipe.

Gameplay: If you make some good puzzles and fix a couple of bugs it can turn out really good.
Visuals: 6D, Sancefar (?) and a bunch of new stuff, looks great.

Couldn't get past the second spikes and gave up after the box got stuck in the first pipe set but nice visuals and so on.

Love it.
The puzzles are a bit hard, mostly because you can't change direction in the air and the controls are finicky, but it's fun, and the graphics and sound are amazing. I also like how I can run it on max on my (kinda outdated) computer, because it looks great at that level.

I assume that the end is the Mario-style pipe that you can go in but ends in a grass-sounding wall, so I stopped playing then. (if you're supposed to go up, I can't, though I was never good at wall jumping)
All in all, a solid game demo for a start, and I think this can even become an indie game if Unity can be used for commercial products.
More levels and story soon, please!
EDIT: It's also possible to die after you get the box in the spike pit, and therefore have to restart the level, because you can't reach the box again.
It would also be nice to have the boxes light up in a nice light, electical blue to show they're being used by telekenisis, because I didn't understand how to make it work at first.

Click on the box and drag it towards you. Put it on the first set of spikes, and keep trying to use it to jump over the others until you do. Good Luck.

Wow rim this is amazing!
Runs well on this shitty old P4 i got running.
i agree that you should be able to have SOME air control with the ball, and the PSYCHOKINESIS (telekinesis is mind-reading, psycho is manipulation of world objects)
anyway the psychokinesis lags behind my mouse a bit. I don't think it's a performance bug tho.

Thanks Jeff. This was lot's of fun. I would like to see a little variety in environments and hazards in later levels. And I agree with being able to move in the air. Otherwise it was great.

Wow, this was really awesome and fun. Really great job on all the textures and everything. For such a simple game it was extremely entertaining. I had to finish it. The ball with the wavy tails was really cool looking too. Wall jumps have always been my favorite moves in video games. One thing you should fix that I got stuck; When I got the box to lift the first pillar and moved through it, when I grabbed the box to place it on the higher up button I dropped the box down the hole and the column closed and I was stuck in between the two columns and had to start over.

Great job thow, glad to see something so cool coming from unity, I know who to ask for help if I need it. I really really hope you finish this game and possibly add a few more things. Oh yea it was pretty annoying how after jumping you couldn't really control movement but I know thats how atleast standard unity is. Congrats!

So here are the options.

Keep the stiff air controls and keep wall-jump.
Gain air control and lose wall-jump.

I don't think its too bad for an early alpha.

Wall jump is more useful, because of the nice vertical shafts.

Some pointers as you play the first stage would be great. Just to give the player an idea of what they can interact with.
That box looked like a static prop the first time I saw it, so I was just trying to wall jump over the spikes for a while. Unsuccessfully.

I also got stuck in the deep pit where you get the second crate after bringing the crate up and going back down again to see if I missed something (forgetting that I needed the crate to get back up).

Also, you can fall through a crate if you are trying to lift yourself up with one if you pull too hard. That's sort of frustrating.

A very fun concept with a hell of a lot of potential, just keep remembering to work out these little kinks.
I'd like to see this project finished. It reminds me of an indie game that you might see on Steam.

Edit: And Tetsuo is wrong. Telekinesis and psychokinesis are the same thing. Telepathy is mind reading, you silly goose. Kinesis is motion, tele is distance.

really cool stuff! how long did it take you to build this? i love how you can download and play without dickering installing anything... I'm guessing you have to basically model everything most things, or is there a hammer-like editor for putting stuff together?

i'll have to check out this unity engine when i get some time... anyway, really cool stuff!

I recently discovered a game called Trine. This has quite a resemblance to it.
