A series of maps I dub "Asterisk", named after the facility you awaken in.

EP2 is required to play these maps. To start from the beginning, load up map "AsteriskCompo31"

HINT: The thickest cable over hanging the outdoor area of the first map has collision, and can be walked over.

HINT: 2nd Map has text stating infinite health, but it is infact only buddha mode for around 30 seconds. God mode is then triggered without your knowledge on the 3rd Map as it is required (due to engine limitations with fall damage).

Made from what little time I had in between on-going projects and life,
I was just happy I could get something in. I seemed to focus mainly on gameplay, as there is a lot of launching the player around and I wanted to get the trajectory just right for a smooth run. As such, I lost focus in detailing and final adjustments, so it is lacking... either way,

Enjoy, and Happy Thanksgiving!

I look forward to all the wonderful entries!

++pretty superb use of most of the textures
++very nicely constructed, visually interesting scenes
+/-some interesting lighting; are some source textlights?!
-some areas seem hastily put together or too-simply constructed
-some areas look a bit campy =)

I won't rate since there is no way for me to test it, but very nice entry all the same.

good luck in the compo! =)

By textlights you mean modified textures that emit light, right? If so, no, why do you ask?

Thanks for the review based off the pics, some things are hard to tell. The last 3 pictures was my idea for a Cyclone machine, it pushes physics and the player around in a circle, and you have to navigate the ramps using sprint to launch yourself onto the top structure.

I just always loved launching the player around in Half-life, but its difficult when working with the unmodified game code. When I placed this map into my mods maps folder it played so much better. ;]

And yes, it is extremely lacking in detail. Just not enough time for me. =D

Understand comepletely about small detailing.. had no time for small detailing myself, which is mu favourite thing to do btw...

for the sheer size and work that went into this, i'm rounding my rating up from 3.5 to 4. too bad i couldn't judge the gameplay or i'm sure i could go as far as 5.

If i get my ep2 reinstalled soon i will replay and rerate! great entry sir and good luck in the competition!
