"Did your parents ask for tuition when they taught you to walk? Did they charge you fees when they prepare meals for you to eat?" They didn't because it's priceless and of immeasurable value. No amount of money would be able to fulfill that childhood-long service. But they didn't do it for money. I'm quite thankful to have great, albeit a bit strict and partially odd parents that brought me to this world.
"My parents gave me money when I needed it for a down payment for a house. I buy them stuff (iPhone, TV, cars) when they need it. There's never any mention of any repayment."
You have a different system. Mine's been lasting since I was 9. I once collected about 400 KM when I was 10, and I had an idea to upgrade my PC, but my parents took it all and bought lots of other stuff, lol.
I was saving up for 5 years for this new PC, and just when I was at the peak, about to buy what so many people told me I deserve, they asked and took some money from me. One time, it was without even asking me, so I hid my wallet where they literally couldn't find it.
Also these 4 broken promises, and now probably the 5th one (or 4.5th? I mean it depends on something we cannot control, so). If the 5th promise is kept, I probably won't bother them ever again until I finish high school.
@Crollo I didn't quite mean to 'rebel' in the way of studying poorly. No, never. That would be bad for my reputation and my self-respect, and multiply my self-pity. I hate F's, D's and to a slight extent, C's. These promises gave me that extra motivation to reach the more perfect scores, but that's just a cherry on top of the cake.
What's really motivating me is something else, something far broader and far-fetching than a single PC. My jaw dropped when I entered the NSoft building with my classmates. We were so, so amazed that a relatively big IT company has its headquarters in this jalopy of a country, in the same city where I go to high school.
Therefore, by 'being a rebel' I meant having a stricter policy on this financial ecosystem going on at home. Either way though, it would end up worse. Bad grades = angry parents and no new PC, while refusing to give money = troubles with parents and perhaps more problems for themselves.
The talk I had yesterday calmed me down and brought me more hope, so I guess I won't mention this specific topic until either March, or June.

I talked to them today about this issue, and in short, they said it's going to happen if something else happens. It's something about my dad's retirement, since my dad hasn't received his pension for 2 months in a row, so he's apparently getting a higher one this time. I'll be fine if it doesn't happen, since this is only for January and February.
If I've been patient for years, I can remain so for a couple of more months at the very least. Besides, there's a part of a song that goes: "ono Å¡to se Äeka dugo, bude najslaÄ‘e" - "what is waited for the longest, becomes the sweetest".
For now, all I could do is upgrade my new rustbucket a little bit, since its poor GPU is dying. I'm thinking a GT 710 for 85 KM (about 43 €) would do the job just fine. My classmate will gift me his 2 GBs of RAM as well. In the end, I think it might end up more powerful than my current laptop, but we'll see.
@satchmo That reminds me of the moment when my brother asked me "Admer, when will I have my own rules in the house?", "When you get your own house.", "When will I get my own house?", "When you're old enough and have the money for it."
I am, however, going to buy it by myself. I'll pay for the parts by myself, build it etc. but the problem is my parents just owe me money because around 20% of my budget is missing due to them borrowing some cash from me. And there's hardly any way I can earn money any more (until summer, of course). My paid maps don't count since that's for games on Steam.
Honestly, now that I had that talk with them, I feel like this journal was quite unneccesary for the most part. They told me that they might return the last 200-300 KM they owe me, I might finally build the computer of my dreams, and everyone will be happy. It comforts me.

There was a time when I believed that these 3 languages were different, but then, after a few keyboard wars, I turned to the "linguistically equal, politically different" way to think about these languages and I realised that it's no wonder no-one's happy here:
Damn nationalism and politics. Only the latter was nice in Ancient Greece until it became all about money.

@Stojke I know, right? They're all the same. Hmm, I actually had a conversation about this on the TWHL Discord. It's kinda stupid that we speak the same language, yet we call it differently because of either some infinitesimal differences, or the fact that one happens to be from another country. Meh, I guess that won't change.

Really? I didn't expect it to be like this. My first and probably only time having a crush was in 6th grade. And guess how that turned out. I acted as if she and I were soulmates. No wonder she hated me.
I guess I've become more of an adult as years passed by, so I'm a better person now. Haha, I'm glad I've changed. It turns out that there really is someone better than my crush in 6th grade. Much better.

So, there's this girl in my class. She's really nice and cute, plays CS:GO, and lives in the town where I went to elementary school (I'm just 0.5 kilometres away).
For some reason, now I'm really feeling interested in CS:GO.
You can't see it so well, but you could notice that the car's front part is heavily damaged. XD
By the way, I started learning some QuArK. For someone who is used to Hammer-style mapping, it isn't too bad! Because of the many options, I'm thinking that QuArK is like the Linux of map editors (kind of, haha).

As I said, I won't bother you people with this specific part of my personal things. I consider it pointless because I don't see the problem. I might even make some of you worry over nothing. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Case closed.
Now, let's switch the topic.
So, I watched a video about dividing polynomials (got an exam tomorrow) and I came to a conclusion: Maths is so much easier when explained slower and in steps. The teacher in my school explains it well, but he rushes constantly. x3

The problem is, I'm stubborn and too lazy to change (thanks to my Montenegrin origins). Once I like an idea of mine, I'll hardly let go. Of course, there are exceptions, sometimes.
By the way, why would you care? I'm just another kid who will fail in life anyway, so there is no point in giving me advice. Or is it?

I think that he made it up. Also, I had one of my dreams come true.
I had a dream where I met a Bosnian, which I first met on a furry Discord server. And it came true the next day. I actually met him! :3 We go to the same high school, so...

"reasonable price" Nah. In my country, there's no such thing.
One of the reasons I'll build my new PC is to do some stuff in CryEngine (don't ask, I know that it crashes!). Other than that, it will be great for compiling maps. For that price, there's no laptop in my country that has the same power.
My 2007 laptop, however, can also do stuff in CryEngine, but CryEngine 1. xD

Because it costs too much. If I wanted the power of a GTX 1050 + Ryzen 5 1400 PC in a laptop, I'd have to pay so, so much. There.
On the other hand, I simply don't need that power when I'm going somewhere. Because I'm carrying it somewhere, using its portability, just to do something that doesn't require much power. And when I'm doing something that needs power, I don't need to carry it!

Of course I'm proud, because it managed to stay alive that long.
In the near future, I'll consider upgrading the RAM (maybe a new HDD as well) and applying new thermal paste (because the processor gets really hot on idle). I can't do it now because of high school and the fact that my options are limited to buying stuff only from my country.
Also, one of my friends has a desktop PC from 2005. Haha, think about that for a second. And he would play Forgotten Hope 2 (BF2 mod) and Mount & Blade: Warband on it. Now, he has a GTX 1060 + Ryzen 5 1500X PC. What a powerful beast.
@Urby Meh, I'll not get a new one. I'm going to get a new PC by the end of this year, so that's already a big expense. Getting a new laptop isn't neccessary.
I mean, if I want power, I don't need portability. If I need portability (e.g. when going to school, or to my grandparents etc.), I don't need power!

Yeah, but we don't use euros here... We use KM, short for "konvertibilna marka". Around 2 KM = 1€. Lol. Now imagine a 1600 euro PC in Bosnia. Not only 3200KM, but even more than that! XD

1600 euros is not cheap in my opinion. For me, 600 euros is between expensive and acceptable. Only less than 300 or 200 is cheap, according to my standards. xD

Except this time, I actually like where it's going, despite them not fully understanding me. I'm making quite some progress.
Good luck with Russian. It's a fun language to learn.
