my biggestest and bestestest cs map (de_splinter_clan) took me 2 weeks to make... thats not inlcuding the time it took me to fix a big goddamned leak in it.

Take your time. Have fun mapping. Think about what the common CS player wants. Gameplay is a huge factor but the gameplay gets ruined when theres nasty lighting or arcitecture that makes the game feel silly.

I suggest you do a total remix of this map with better lighting mainly and perhaps a few more walls that are not shoot-throughable.

not neraly as many black 'lines' down the cliffs. Removed annoying null textured brush that allowed players to see through wall in bombsite B..
ummm.. fixed the tank with an invisible ass.

Improved lighting... Re-aligned crates in T spawn.. umm... the usual stuff..

but... that still doesnt explain why you made a skybox or had a HUGE area of detailed sand texture that the player never sees! when you make a map that big, you need to work on lag reducing techniques.

Also, its not the laser it touches, it the light on the roof

the places i found that had the largest r_speeds were, much to my astonishment, not the open ares, but the bits closest to the edge of the map... did u make un-seen textures NULL?

nobody rates problem maps or example maps...

NEVER EVER compile without vis or RAD... without vis, entities will dissapear and without RAD, you wont get any lights...

The whole map has to be covered or it'll lag like a crazy bittch...

to reduce compile times, place the NULL texture on all unseen surfaces..

A simpler version of what was said ;)
