I'll have to join the bandwagon here. The demo never got me hooked enough to consider buying it.
I could blame my hype, as I expected something absolutely groundbreaking, and even if that's somewhat true - it's just an interesting mechanic executed in a very visually appealing, yet dry way. The obvious Mario elements in the gameplay just didn't seem to cling right with the extra time control thing.
The story seemed overly-sweetened mucky-muck, and even if it changes in the end, it sure deteriorated my experience in the beginning.
Portal could be dubbed, to some extent, as a more superior analog. Even though the locations weren't as vivid, they worked perfectly, and while the new gameplay mechanic was just as ingenious, the absolute hilariousness of the narrative kept even the most skeptical going.

Mario, that's my issue. The only trips I had from weed were either non-existant or just plain bad. I'm sure it simply takes experience to start controlling it properly, but I really don't see the point of going through all that trouble. As long as alcohol satisfies my needs of helping me relax, I'll just stick with it.

The main reason why I avoid anything stronger than homebrew vodka is the way it's so much harder to control the effect. When you drink, you're in control. You want to get a bit more drunk, you take another shot. If you don't, you stop.
With drugs, you take a puff or swallow a shroom and you're no longer in control. The effects come down on you too quick (mostly) and you can't really effectively bail if you want/need to. As for alcohol, you'll be fine as long as you don't fuck up.
.. that and I also had a fairly scary experience with weed a few years back. Not touching that stuff again. Shrooms I never found appealing, and as interesting an LSD trip would be to endure, I just don't see the point of going through all the trouble getting the stuff, not to mention the possible repercussions.

Depends on which part of France we're talking about. If it's south - go for it, should be pretty damn beautiful there this time of the year (I'm assuming it's semi-spring with pleasant weather and temperatures.) If not, re-evaluate. Visiting a new country or a week of doing whatever the fuck you like with no-one stopping you.
Weddings in foreign countries rule though. My cousin held hers in Mexico. While the event itself wasn't anything much, the chance (and excuse) to go and visit that country was great. Had an amazing time there, saw places, and had some plain R&R of the highest quality. So yeah, I'd go if I were you. Never mind that language barrier, you'll manage. :]

Fact of the matter is, the iPhone was actually great for a phone. It had all the necessary functions of a 3G device, and more, plus the excessive amount of apps made it highly customizable for whatever needs you have. I probably would've gotten one myself if I didn't prefer having all my gadgets (phone, mp3 player, camera, etc.) as separate entities, not an all-in-one monstrosity, or didn't mind touchscreens in general.
The ipad, however, does not perform any task better than your average netbook. Hell, even the fanboys are running out of things to say in its defence. Some of the arguments from the macfag side I've seen are that it "doesn't make you feel like you're at work", or that "multitasking is for internet dorks". 'Nuff said, I think.

Honestly though, I can't see how you'd get $800 of functionality out of this one. It's too huge to be a palm PC, which puts it in the netbook category (..eh?), where it's basically nothing. I wouldn't have been surprised to see a slightly bigger palm PC version of the iPhone, running some mobile OSX ver., but this just doesn't make sense. Not to mention no multitasking, even the iPhone can do it.
Weird move, Apple. Not that it's not going to sell though. Fuckin' macfags.
EDIT: Lol'd. Using phrases like "internet dork" and "work mode" takes the cake.

I get regular flying dreams (once every couple of weeks or so), best stuff ever. Weird thing is, they're sort of progressing. Throughout a number of dreams where I'd just flap my arms and take off during my everyday routine, with my friends/family seeing me at that point, their reaction would progress from complete awe to something along the lines of "fly over to the corner shop and grab some milk, please?" in the most recent ones. Some weird shit, but I love those dreams.

Oh no, don't get me wrong, no-one knows for sure, that's normal. I wouldn't say I believe in the big bang theory, as that would take some sort of concrete proof. However, the theory does sound very plausible if you look at it from a scientific/physics angle.
As for god creating us (and I'm not dissing your beliefs here), it just sounds so much less plausible and I'm not even speaking about proof.
And see, there's the problem with beliefs. You don't know for sure. You're assuming. You can't tell if there's really a god creating that baby for the single (albeit careless) mother who knows she can't possibly afford to raise a, say, 3rd child. You don't know, thus you can't really judge whether or not it is right. Neither can I. Thus in my opinion, the judgement is all up to whoever is directly responsible for keeping the baby alive at that point - i.e the mother.

Also, it should be entirely up to the mother and/or medical specialists to choose whether or not she needs an abortion. The fetus is not self-conscious in the early initial stages, and is a legitimate part of her body, so technically the final call should be the mothers' and shouldn't be considered inhumane or immoral, given there is reason to it.

Now I can see religion as something to direct people towards the old, stereotypical, yet mostly correct values (family, helping one another, etc.), however that's where it should end. Taking the thing to extremes like fundamentalism, trying to deny scientific facts, or depending on it completely and nothing else is plain ignorant.
