I've added a photo of the damaged launchpad and a video of the launch failure from inside a small plane at 3000ft.

That could be the case indeed, striker. It was just too much for the old engine, and it exploded.

No, it's an unmanned launch vehicle. Still devastating though.

You find that funny, Ghoster? Well guess what, it isn't.

I got one of those mails too. Thought it would be wise to hide my email address on my profile page, it was visible since I first signed up here 11 years ago.

Thnx, pengy. :)

Yeah, I've always wanted to make a wad viewer, just for fun and practice purposes, so I tried using the HLLib libraries by referencing these in my project. It did'nt work, Visual Studio complained that these dll's are not .NET assemblies and therefor cannot be referenced. It's bacause HLLib is written in C, not .NET, right? I believe you can reference C libs by referencing them in pure code. Too much of a hassle to me.

So with your loaders (WadPackage.cs) I should be able to come up with some sort of wad viewer, right? I prefer to use your loaders over HLLib...

Cool stuff.

But what if you want to work with binary files such as wad, pak, spr, mdl, bsp and whatnot? How does one know how to read and write such files? Where do you even begin?

Lovely map. Plays very well. What I really dig are the lights and lens flares. Effin' gorgeous.

The one thing I don't like are the light bridges. I don't think it fits in this map as it is the only unrealistic object in the map. I don't have a problem with unrealistic map features, but in this case I think you should get rid of them.

Had a 2vs2 playtest yesterday with Striker. It's a really cool map, but it needs some more work still.

The map played more like a singleplayer map than a deathmatch or multiplayer map due to the way it was laid out. Usually, in deathmatch maps, or any kind of multiplayer map, doors are always or partially open. You don't have to interact with it to open it, to keep the flow and speed of the level. Although it's always fun to place a tripmine behind a door and surprise the crap out of everyone.

Another point is weapon placement. I agree with Archie that the Egon is horrible, get rid of it. Also, more shotguns and 357's! I've only found one of both in our playtest.

Other than that, a great map, and worth playing again. Wonderful visuals and details everywhere, and yes, that's gonna cost you, resource wise. So maybe you'll have to cut down on detail here and there. R_speeds r_no problem, it played very smoothly on my end, but I did notice that sometimes entities such as weapons and health kits disappear and reappear a second later due to the max entities in the visible packet list. It'll be tricky to fix that.

Looking forward to updates as well, hit me up on Steam if you need me for another playtest. :)

I'll try to find you next time i get on, Blitz. I haven't played that much yet so I'm not totally familiar with most gameplay features yet.

Also, it seems that EA is going to give first time buyers of SC2013 a free game to compensate for all the problems that we've experienced since release day. Also, most server problems have been fixed by now so disconnects during gameplay should be reduced, making the game playable. A good thing I guess. :)

Dimbark, I didn't ask for such nonsense, but I agree on that fact that $60 is a lot of cash. And I don't mind the always online policy that much because I'm always online anyway.

I've added you, Blitz, I don't see you yet, perhaps you have to accept my invitation or something.

I know nothing about Garry's Mod so i don't know, but what he shows to me are just HL1 levels loaded into GM.

I put a lot of work in Uplink Extended and i don't want to just give away all the rmfs to people for them to use the their mods. I'm willing to share parts of the areas in my mod to people but only if they can show their work is legit, as in, made by themselves in Hammer. Those screenshots don't show any of that.

Yes, it is my birthday today. It has become a tradition to me to come up with somekind of subliminal message to announce my birthday. Last year, it was a qr code, the year before that, it was binary code. This year it was just an ASCI cube with ASCI character forming the number 29 on YourWorldOfText. But like i said, someone thought he was funny and ERASED it, and what i get instead is a bunch of nonsense, people calling each other fagot. Appreciate it.

Well, i guess that if you knew what i was trying to say with this, you wouldn't ruin it, so you're all forgiven.
Commented 11 years ago2012-07-27 23:31:26 UTC in journal: #7917 Comment #38572
Ugh.
Someone thought he was funny and cleared the worldoftext page. Thank you for ruining my subliminal message.

Basically what i had made on that page, was an ASCI cube with ASCI characters forming the number 29. Apparently, people didn't get it.

Ah yes, i remember your journal when you first got it. Your journal inspired me so I've been thinking about getting one but i know NOTHING about electronics so that's what is holding me back. Maybe i should just go for it and purchase a starters kit, a beginners book and start creating simple things like blinking LEDs or something...

Funny because yesterday i was looking at the night sky and noticed this very bright star.
I fired up Stellarium to see what it was. It was Mars.

Btw, you should check out Stellarium, it's a free open source planetarium for your computer. It shows a realistic sky in 3D in realtime, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope.
