I also second Archie's suggestion that you get her tested for time traveler DNA, I'm pretty sure I remember it only being last year that she was born.

Can definitely recommend an SSD as well - I don't have one for my games library (though I am eyeing an upgrade) but I have an SSD for my OS drive and it boots lightning fast. If you can afford it I'd recommend getting an additional terabyte one for storage, but at the very least the having a 500GB SSD as your C:/ drive is a must IMO if you're planning on doing just a single drive to start.
Everything else looks like it should be VR ready for the current generation at least, and probably for the next as well.

Also, he's 12 already?! It's only now setting in how long I've been on this site, I remember you posting stories when he was a toddler!

I use Vegas Pro in the rare times I actually do any video editing, but I also got that in a Humble Bundle so it was like $20 (which especially considering it came bundled with a bunch of other stuff was basically like stealing it). It's uh, not anywhere near as cheap now. Like Urby suggested maybe an older version would be more affordable if you can find it. They seem to have a monthly-recurring version as well, which is more accessible but since it doesn't appear to be a "rent to own" type deal that's not super good.

I've also used Premiere years ago in high school, and it was fairly competent. Seems like it goes for $40 USD a month these days, so that's not exactly a good deal either (Why must companies gouge us with recurring payments!!)

If you need just the absolute minimum, Blender of all things has some built-in video editing capabilities but they're uh, not great usability-wise, but it's free so you get slightly more than you pay for. Slightly.

Dehumidifiers are useful, just don't forget to empty the water bins (And maybe put the contents into the water tanks for your humidifier to use come winter, if you have one of those as well)

I've actually slipped far behind on watching the stream archives so this might be good news for me! There's just so much content to go through in each stream that I rarely manage to get through an entire one, so maybe doing smaller ones for just a few maps at once or even single maps numbered by their MV ID, then "Mod Specials" would be both more digestible and work better with your schedule.

But the fact is that these children are being held as political prisoners, for something that was not their decision, for something that was not a jailable offense, in facilities that were not designed to house people.These facilities are only going to become more crowded as this policy of detaining immigrants continues. And I guarantee you, if they're allowed to get crowded enough, someone is going to decide that digging a pit is more economical.

And that's to say nothing of ICE officers illegally entering private residences and businesses without warrants to detain more people, something that is blatantly illegal, the government is also doing nothing about, and is very reminiscent of how the Gestapo operated during the Nazi regime.

You have to look at the warning signs. If you wait until people are being executed en masse it's already too late.

I've tried to explain this to you before in other conversations but ethnicity doesn't cause a predisposition to crime. This statistic says less about immigrants and more about racial profiling and lack of opportunities for legal advancement in the areas where hispanic people end up gathering. (usually in poorer areas of large cities, which in turn is due to years of racial bias.) I'd also be curious to know how many of those prison sentences are due to the ban on cannabis. I would imagine quite a few, which would of course mean that cannabis prohibition is working as intended.

I don't think anyone is arguing that, but valuing your own people doesn't have to come at the expense of the value of others, especially when those people are trying to become one with you. This is something Trump doesn't seem to understand either - It's not a zero-sum game. Everyone can win if you just allow it.

Competition between nations, sure. In peacetime it can cause massive booms and I have to admit - however many times we came close to destroying each other, the NATO/USSR cold war worked miracles for technology, as did the world wars, but I also have to say I'm not certain the cost, both actual in the latter examples and potential in the former one, were worth that acceleration. We'd still have the transistor today if they hadn't firebombed Tokyo and nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and we had the radio before Gavrilo Princip fired the bullet that hit 41 million.

Nationalism on the other hand? You're going to have to provide some concrete proof of that ever making anything other than discrimination, war, and genocide. "My country is better than yours and everyone who isn't one of us can suck it and die" isn't very constructive, and I'm glad that even during the height of the cold war we were able to find some places to find common ground and cooperate with the Soviets, like the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project.

The people entering your country are doing so because they're fleeing the criminals. They are refugees. The reason they're entering your country illegally (and as I've said applying for asylum cancels out that misdemeanor, legally speaking) is because your orange "god-king" closed the ports of entry, meaning they cannot enter the country legally via the ground. And refugees generally can't afford a plane ticket because the people they're running from took or destroyed everything they have.

These people just want a new life safe from tyranny and oppression. Because I know you don't give a shit about that, let me put it in terms you might - First generation immigrants are willing to work hard to earn their keep and they'll gladly do the jobs most americans would sneer at because it means they at least have a chance to start over. Immigrants are one of the best sources of economic stimulus. Those of them that haven't had the chance to get a college education will pick your crops, tend your storefronts, and clean your toilets to keep things running smoothly. Those of them that have had the opportunity to be educated will bring in fresh ideas and expertise to create new ventures and technology.

Instead your government is spending more money than I pay a month in rent, per person, daily, to lock them away. This doesn't help them, it doesn't help you, and it wastes an inordinate amount of your taxpayer money that could be spent doing something useful like fixing your crumbling infrastructure or funding a national healthcare plan. If this decision was really about "America First" the Trump administration would be welcoming these people with open arms. It's not about helping America. It's about getting rid of the "filthy brown people".

They're not to the point of forcing labor or executing them yet, but those "facilities" definitely fit the definition of concentration camps.
Also the fact that people are being arrested for entering the US as asylum seekers, an act that is not illegal, even when they cross the border illegally (applying for asylum, IIRC, also cancels out the misdemeanor crime of illegal entry if done within 2 weeks. And even if that's not done in the legal timeframe, illegal immigration is a misdemeanor, and a civil infraction not a felony and criminal infraction, and thus doesn't warrant imprisonment, especially without the due process which is the basis of your entire legal system)

The new executive order doesn't solve anything. Children will still be imprisoned in subpar "holding facilities", though alongside their parents this time. My prediction is that these same facilities will still be used but become more crowded as the parents are shipped in.

You Americans need to all contact your representatives and make it painfully clear that the voting public will not tolerate this shit. Unless your representative is Jeff "Concentration Camps for Kids" Sessions, in which case you need to call for him to immediately step down because clear breaches of the constitution aside the fact that he owns investments in the company that's operating these hellholes is a clear conflict of interest. Sessions is directly profiting from putting children in cages.

While you're at it give them an earful for violating US Law, International Law, and Cuban law for committing war crimes in Guantanamo as well.

Alright, I've went and re-ported the mod, this time to 2013. Make sure you're part of the "upcoming" beta for the SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer (otherwise mods will just CTD), delete the mod folder, and re-download it. Hopefully it'll work now, because if it doesn't I'm out of ideas.

That's odd. Okay, a few more things to check - does the mod have it's own bin/ folder, and if yes, does renaming it fix the error? I'm assuming you have all the Source SDK bases also installed?

I really wish there was an easier way to tell what exactly is happening on your end, that error doesn't specify what directory it's trying to load etc.

Sourcemods is the correct folder, but due to the steampipe update breaking this a few years back I've had to do some porting. (hence the update) It should be loading the Episode 2 dlls in the current version - do you have Ep2 installed?

Nothing like the feeling of unpacking boxes and putting together a new machine, hooking it all up, and having it boot for the first time. I've only done it twice but each time was a massive upgrade in what games I could play and what software I could use. UNLIMITED POWER!!!!!

Just uh, make sure you put the standoff screws in your motherboard where applicable (A lot of more modern designs aren't using them as much anymore). I almost fried my first build by neglecting to do that. (I thought they were extras, didn't realize they were a special kind!)

I saw the reveal trailer livesteam (or rather, an archive of it) and as soon as that character came on screen the chat filled with shit. The trailer is also currently being bombed on youtube, which I can only explain as people not liking it because it dared to include a woman, since from where I'm standing the visuals and gameplay both looked great.

In some (surprisingly unheated!) discussion on twitter I pointed out that since there was historical precedent for female combatants in WWII, and the trailer was obviously meant to be for the multiplayer, it should be a non-issue even if someone genuinely cared about the historical accuracy. (putting up the example of the Hellriegel from Battlefield One, of which maybe up to 5 were made period, being a main SMG in multiplayer without complaints about "but historical accuracy!")

Well I stand corrected. You have a better sample size than I do, being a pediatrician and all, but most of the births I've heard of took upwards of 8 hours. Based on that I assumed it was the norm by a fair margin.

Have you ensured your email address is the same case in both fields? I found out the hard way that the field was case sensitive, so if you type yours with upper case letters and it's stored as lower case only in the database it'll keep locking you out because the first one auto-fills.

Sounds interesting, but I wouldn't be able to catch it live as I live in EST. So long as there's a video archive somewhere, though, it would be a good thing to have on my second monitor while I work!

Looks great and plays well. HLDM is pretty well dead these days, but this map is a worthy send-off to it, especially factoring in it's history.
