Strapping Young Lad - Zen

Actually bothered downloading Shoot Em' Up once I heard they've used this song in the movie. Major dissapointment; a song as intense/brutal as this could've made for amazing immense shootout scene background music. :<

Just make an object the same size as your func_illusionary, don't tie it to any entity and texture it with the CLIP texture.
It'll be invisible ingame and will block the player/monsters.

in Elevators cant lift pushables? Post #252263
Elevators and other moving entities interacting with pushables or NPCs = pretty buggered up in GldSrc. You'll most likely experience various glitches when trying to make a puzzle like that (not a bad idea btw).
I think Spirit's improved things a bit in that department, so you may want to try it out.

in [UTILITY] Half-Life Launch Pad Post #252230
Wow, you're really improving! Implementing hotkeys was probably fairly complex. :)

A few suggestions:
  • You could make the window a bit more compact, considering this is a fairly simple tool.
  • A LAUNCH button would be more convenient and self-explanitory than double-clicking the mapname.
  • You should add in a textbox for any more complex commands. The user would type them in manually.
Overall - useful lil' tool. Fix that mod-listbox-not-becoming-active bug, implement all the stuff you've mentioned and you'll have yourself a winner.

EDIT: Heh, this has also removed the multiple shortcuts on my desktop to various mods I use for quick debugging/testing. Kickass. :>

The path to the .wav file in any ambient_generics in your map may have a space in it.
If not - look through any sound-related resources you've modified recently and check for spaces in paths to .wav files.

in Computer Stats to use Source SDK? Post #252140
Those specs are more than enough for HL2/Ep1 and should support Ep2 on medium graphics, thus the SDK aswell.

I think it's most likely a drivers problem.

SP maps have much higher r_speed limits anyway. What would lag online with a couple of players aboard (1500-2000 wpolies) runs perfectly in SP. Keep it below 2000 and everything'll be fine. :>

Wow. I can wholeheartedly say, this is the mod. I mean, HL2 ported to GoldSource, a ten-year-old engine, how awesome is that?
I'm more than sure you'll manage a project this huge all by yourself. The current media, showing your model decompiling skills really speaks for itself.
Good luck! If I were you - I'd refrain from posting any media untill the mod's finished in order to double everyone's anticipation of the project. For best results - hit everyone with the finished product when they're all thinking you've given up. ;)

From HLBSP
Error: ReadSurfs (line 3685): 32 > MAXPOINTS
This is caused by a face with too many verticies (typically found on end-caps of high-poly cylinders)
Look for any complex brushes that could have faces with more than 32 vertices (possibly cylinders). Dunno if Search for problems (Alt+P) would classify that as a problem, though you can always try.

TWHL MotM Playtest Server
IP: 78.62.14.99:27015
Admins: MotM team

As you may have guessed, cp_goldfinger was voted February's Map of the Month. Being the first TF2 map we'll be reviewing, I figured this could also be the first multiplayer winner we'd have public playtests for.

So, without any further delay - I've hosted a quick dedicated TF2 server supporting 12 players (may change; can't really tell how much my connection can handle/how full the server will be) with cp_goldfinger only on its map rotation.
I'll try keeping it on as long as possible, though I really can't guarantee 24/7 uptime. Also, since the server's hosted in Central Europe, your ping may be going high, especially if you're from US/Aus. Urby (UK) got a solid 100-110.

We're also now accepting all guest reviews, so now's your chance if you always wanted to give reviewing a go. All you do is jump on the server, playtest it with others, write your thoughts down, give its main aspects evaluations (Architecture, Texturing, etc.) and PM it all to me.

Happy fragging! Should there be any problems, post them in this thread or contact me.
