make sure you have a info_landmark in both levels that have the same name, and that you have a level change in both levels that points to the correct landmark

see Madcow, between my last post and this one, I opened They Hunger, Got to the church, got the umbrela, climbed the bell tower, got the pistol, pulled the rope, ran back to the now open vent, got the dynamite, got out of the church, and back to the area where you surface from your car crash. all in about, what 15 minutes? and im still less than 1% through the game.

Hunter, HS will be the best HL mod ever, once its out, until then, someplace else still rules as the best made single player mod ever. then Azaure Sheep, POV, etc...

Madcow, thats about the first 1% of the game you got through. their are more weapons, more types of zombies, and alot more They Hunger Goodness the further you get into the game

so for your next table your going to have like a bar graph thingy? with how far people are generally able to take their CPU's and how far they have been taken?

if so, you might want to check out Hardware asylum, Xtream systems, and the ORB, for some raw data.

and make sure you put the records for the limit they've been taken to, like Kinc's world record on the FX-57 at 3905Mhz.

id say get a second 250GB HD and put it in raid like 7th said.

you may want to get a different, cheeper, PSU less case.

2 Gig's or ram isn't really needed, 1 should do it, id say invest in a 7800GT instead, or a faster proc, say a 3800+

im redoing the most complex part of my map. deleting it and makeing a detour around it to be exact. no more 12hr Vis's for me, which gives me considerable time to work.

and I have no school till Jan 3. so ill be done, completely.

final seqeunce isn't really done yet. erherm if you guys could all email me a small part of your maps it would look alot better when its done.

Hunter are you going to send me your new version of your level to me so I can see it?

pepper, ya, look into blender, it is very powerful. you might want to look into the import/export scripts for it though. it doesn't nativly have the ability to export to many programs.

well, my part is ok. I just need to tweak it for R_Speed reasons (the final coridor is a hevily detailed 6000+ unit run, and its tall and wide. pisses off the engine, Im thinking I should put a jog or a door in it.

don't listen to the people above me. there not quite right.

I, personally, have hosted 5 Xbox and 2 PC lans, and have organized a weekly thing at my school and am currently organizing our Class Night Lan, which will be the biggest weve ever had, 2x 16 player lans, playing Unreal Championship, Halo 2, Battlefront 2, etc...

but enough of my resume.

youll need a few things.

1) A network hub or switch, or a DSL router if your in a jam

2) strait through, CAT-5 cables that can reach from the hub/router/switch to the X-boxs. you could have the hub at an intermediat distance and have two equal length cables going to the boxs, or have it next to a box with a short connector cable and a long one that can reach to the other one.

the cables can be pretty expensive if you buy them pre made. $30 or so if you want a 100 footer or something. I make my own, pretty cheep if you have a real of the stuff and the $50 crimping tool, but I assume that's out of the question for you?

so in the end you will have it go
Xbox -> Cable -> Hub/switch/router -> Cable -> Xbox

1st: Get Valve Hammer Editor 3.4, its Worldcraft, but heavily updated. And Get Zoner's Half-life Compile Tools (ZHLT). they work vastly better then what the quake compile tools that come with worldcraft can do.

well, both william and elon, what i meant was that out of your standard Halflife.wad, you can only use the TNNL textures. so you would probably have to make your map with a tunnel theme, or find a creative way to use the textures. I don't particually like the idea of having to download a wad, being on dial up and all.

its a good idea, but maybe instead of including a custom .wad, why not just say you can only use textures that have TNNL in them, or lab, or some other keyword for a texture set in the standard HL wad, and you can use ZHLT.wad for the null tex and such? save on bandwidth.
