MSpaint = Microsoft Paint (Paint, as you see it in your programs).
I'm not going to work on the hev zombie
You should, same with the other models - the textures look blurry, grainy and low on detail. If you lack the skills, find a texture artist to do the job for you.

Otherwise - the models are quite nice; Any mapping media? :)

Aww, ok, anyone got any ideas for mods?
Personally, I think it's pretty hard just taking someone's idea and starting a mod based on it. You'd be much better off thinking of something original yourself and giving it a shot. ;)

CAN NOT DECOMPILE MAPS! HOW COULD HE POSSIBLY OPEN A BSP?
Hammer 4 -> Export to .map
Open .map in Hammer 3.5.

As for the mod, I don't see any point in remaking HL2 on a much older engine. I also don't see this getting far. You'll most likely manage re-creating one, maybe two chapters, see how utterly hard and pointless it is and give up. That's my personal opinion.

Keep up the flamewars and this'll be closed.

.. should I count this in as your vote?

And yeah, I'd also have to say de_mon > Alpestrine. Both visually and gameplay-wise. De_mon is close to revolutionary for a CS map in terms of gameplay and visuals vs. performance, while Alpestrine, even if looking very nice, was just killbox-like with weapon and powerup spam.

Nice media, however the mapping's pretty much below average in screenie #2. The room really needs detail and objects like supports, etc. to break up those plain walls.

in Preventing certain weapon's buying Post #245421
It's defined by certain entities in the map.
Like, if it's a bomb defuse map, you add a func_bomb_target to enable that game mode (Terrorists recieve C4, etc.)

Same with as_oilrig, once a func_vip_safetyzone is placed in the map, the teams are restricted of buying some of the weapons.
You couldn't really implement this in a non-as_ map, though, since with the safetyzone in the level - one of the CTs would always spawn as the VIP.

Awesome, thanks for the votes, folks.
I remember Tetsu posting a Rune Goldberg machine competition that never really got anywhere. It'd be kickass to revive that, since that field has literally endless possibilities and lets you utilize pretty much anything in any way.

So, the new challenge is:
Make a Rune Goldberg Machine

For those, who don't know what a Rune Goldberg machine is, just go to Youtube and search for it. Lots of examples.

Also, to make judging easier and the competition fairer, your machine shouldn't consist of more than 50 objects (anything that triggers the following action is an object; e.g. gas canister with a fuse, teeter-totter with a ball on it, toy car with its controller and a ramp, etc.).

Kudos to Tetsu0 for a great idea. If you were thinking of reviving this yourself, do let me know and I'll change this one. ;)

May the most resourceful mapper win! :hammer:

Nothing new.
Hunter still can't map for HL1, I'm busy with 6-D/OIFH atm, the rest of the team seems to have given up.

What we have is a roughly 60-75% done mod and untill we get our shit together (you will be noted once we manage that) - this is on complete hold. In other words - dead for now.

"Have faith"? Not really.

Wow, thank-you! (Placed badge in profile aswell :^_^: )

I'll explain how it works with an example to make things clearer. Let's say it's rotating a number plate from 8 to 9. Here's what happens.

1) Number plate 8 is triggered to rotate and show the following number on it's back (9 in this case).
2) Alongside plate 8, plate 9 is triggered to rotate back to it's front side, since it's been rotated to it's back side in the last frame (just like 8 is in this frame).
3) Plate 8 is hidden.
4) Plate 9 is shown.

So yeah, you pretty much understood how it works. ;)
