Shall I bring up the ten commandments of TWHL again?

This is a good idea, but a remodicication of the map vault has been brought up many times before, never really to be followed through.

If you guys re-do the map vault for HL2 maps too, maybe you could take some of the other opinions on the vault into consideration?

They are in the TODO and in other various places through the forums...

I like Halo...

Its a great game, fun, and has great graphics. You really couldn't compare Half-Life 2 to Halo 2 since both are seeking different audiences and are totally different approaches to the new gaming world.

I like both, and will get both, and will like it.

Don't judge what everyone here at TWHL thinks by just a few people's posts.

WC dude, You don't dream about what you think about before you go to bed. When you sleep, you think a heck of a lot, and all those thoughts generate your dreams. People with high imagionations will have odder dreams that those without high imagionations. Those without high imagionations dream in black and white. Others dream in color. Everyone has dreams though, but will only remember the ones you wake up during. They last about 4 seconds for each one, so you can imagon how may you could have while you are alseep...

It is quite normal to dream of heaven. His dream was probably his own interpretation of it, although to my knoledge, I have no Idea what heaven is like in the least bit. The Bible never says anything about that, it just tells lessons of how to act here on earth.

Here's what I think and know about dreams:

Dreams are your sub-concious mind at work. You dream billions of dreams a night, but you can only remember them if you wake up in the middle. What the purpose of dreams are is to solve your many problems. That is why your dreams will probably resemble things in your daily life, or play back memories. This is also why if you do not sleep, you will go insane. People who sleep outside under a full moon are considered lunatics. It is said that they go crazy. This is probably because they don't get much sleep with moonlight for some reason.

I perfer Shrimp Pastas and Mexican food. Anything spicy. I don't care for sweets, or fatty foods. I like pizza, as all Americans do. Popcorn is my favorite snack, but I am quite fond of apples as well.

You do eat pumpkins, but you need to grind them up and put them in a pie. I just eat the pumpkin seeds. They're good salted and roasted, though I burnt them this year, lol.

TWHL keeps posting the "This page cannot be displayed" screen for me and a few other members. Whats going on people? Its really annoyong to have to press Refresh every dang second.

Holloween was started in Ireland, not America. It's roots are traced back to the great patato famine. I don't remember the whole story, but it has to do with starving Irish people going house to house, and it evolved into a "Scary time with lotz of candy".

Anyway, its just a fun time for young children to go around and get candy from their neighbors. Of course there is the occasional phyco that puts razor blades in popcorn balls and candy apples, but there are ways to know if the candy has been tampered with. There hasn't been one of those freaks in a while.

Highschoolers here in America usually do acts of vandalism during Halloween, which I really do not aprove of (Exept pumpkin smashing )

All gloom and doom happens to me. Never thought that this was how life was suppose to be, but, it is, and you just have to accept it and get over it.

It can only be origional HL, I believe.

You can use any custom Wad, but then it must be included in the MOD format or whatever.

You need to make it a MOD if you want to add custom stuff.

But, What do I know, I've never entered one.

I have experimented in many different programing languages. I have found visual basic to be the easiest, and C++ to be the most effective. Java's only real advantage over C++ is the unique applet system that Java is famous for, so do not try Java.

I did not read most of the earlyer posts, because I really don't have the time, but I hope my bit of information helps, and has not been said.

I suggest that you start small with C++, learn the basics. You need to get a book, and online tutorials always work well. Play around. That is the best way to learn. You learn from your mistakes, and you can incourage mistakes by playing around, therefore making learning a faster process. Do not touch the Half-Life SDK for a long time. Learn C++ if you really do want to code.

Most people when faced with this reality say "Oh, thats too much work, nevermind", but don't be like that. Programming languages are great recources to learn, and can help you with all your technological walks of life.

I know I have offered this same advice, "Playing around with stuff", for mapping, texturing, whatever, but, it really works, so get out there and have fun with your learning, and I hope to see you become a great programmer some day. some day.

There is no such thing as simple coding. You need to look big in order to obtain small. Learn more than you have to, and the small stuff will look like a cinch.

Some people will tell you " don't go too fast now, you'll be confused". I tell you now. Go fast. Be confused. It helps.

I know what I have wrote here is more philosophy of learning than simple coding, but, you need to know it all.
