Finally finished up a tutorial for an animated model for HL2 using XSI and proposed it for the site. Maybe I can work on something else for a change.. maybe like creating a character model?

My college team won their season-opener (US) football game big-time yesterday. Go Bucks!

I seem to be in a tutorial frenzy. Uploaded 2 tutorials in the last few days (one's posted already), I'm 50% through the research on a tut for an animated HL2 model and have another tut in the outline stage. Turns out the tutorial format in the tutorial tutorial we're supposed to use is somewhat antiquated.

I'm also messing around with ideas for the Xen competition. Could be fun, but just may not have time for it. :cry:

Created my first prop_dynamic for HL2! A simple prop that sorta looks like an oilfield pump, moving up and down.. :biggrin:

Turns out all the trouble to use XSI EXP was worth it (to me).

Continuing (21 Aug, less than 24 hours since last log entry):

Working on a security camera prop_dynamic that will (eventually) pan back and forth.

Successfully created 2 HL2 models with XSI EXP with uv mapped textures! Hoohaw!

Created my first HL2 model with Blender, MSPaint, an image converter, vtex, studiomdl, et. al. It sucks rocks, but it's a model.

I wish tga was a more popular format. Of my 1000s of programs, not one would work with tga. Of course, that's all Valve will work with.

What a chore. :tired:

On to bigger and better models, perhaps.

[edit] Well, crap! Typing in the log and I remembered Wally for TGAs. For cryin' out loud. :x

Mangaged to get a camera sequencer working and put in 'Unfinished.' Going to try to add backward and repeat views from the cameras.

The delays in the camera views are a pain. Don't know if I can shorten them.
