Got new PC running smooth. I personally have not noticed anything impressive about the new nVidia 7800gs, but then again, my ATI 9800pro was pretty alright and did everything well till recently.
Can't wait to find a game that will show its stuff. :D

Got home tonight to find the parts had arrived for my new PC.

With my new nVidia 7800gs pushing it, I can run it at 1600x1200 at 57fps using the map SwampLight

/Me is so happy tonight. But really tired. Been updating for ages it seems.

Step #1 achieved. I have broadband again. Step #2, buy parts to build new PC.

I will be around this weekend if anyone wants to frag some HL1 maps. I have enough PC to do that much. :/

I am but recently recovering from losing all my computer hardware and software to a fire. I have now experienced something even worse than 56k.

This thing I am now using, barely qualifies as a computer, but it will have to do until I build my new rig.

Funny how a fire will set your priorities for you.

[EDIT] linky to thread for details.

Day 28
I am still contemplating my eventual advent unto Hell. You'll have to excuse my lack of enthusiasm but this pondering takes precedence over your petty concerns. I have my very soul to save.

Day 27.
Found out today that its been confirmed. I am going to Hell. Its a bit disturbing when you think about it. I am one of the last people in the world that I imagine worthy of a Hellish destination. Seems a bit bleak for those who are even worse than myself since they are obviously going to Hell too. Whats truly weird is the people deciding my fate, have absolutely no experience to make such a decision with. Talk about egotistical. Its no fucking wonder most churches have double doors. They need the clearance for their fat heads to squeeze through.

I am going to Hell because some asshole says so. That sucks.

Day 25
[EDITED out rant] The journal isn't the place for battles. My apologies
Orph

Anyway, "Rice Warfare"

About the turn of the century, the 5th century that is, conventional wisdom was to shoot a piece of wood from a bow into your enemy. The problem was, the enemy had their own pieces of wood and hurled them into your body as well. In some cases with much more accuracy.

A solution had to be found. Thus the birth of using rice to kill ones enemies. It was common knowledge that rice was fattening as hell. The propaganda departments of the era decided to use their powers of persuasion to convince the enemy that rice was the next "IN" thing. Everyone who was anyone would, or should eat it by the handful.

The plot worked to well, both sides ate the stuff until neither side was fit to wage battle any longer.

By the middle of the second year after the 5th century, the idea of using food as a weapon was abandoned.

/ history lesson

ALAS, I nearly forgot about my rice topic. Dear me. :aghast:

Day 22
Well, firstly, rice is good. After all, 2 billion Chinamen can't be wrong. Rice can be used in a whole shitload of ways from recipes to weaponry. If you doubt it, think about how many individuals spend their wedding nights either digging parts out of their eyes, or the night at an emergency waiting room.

Stay tuned. Next week we will look at the history of rice warfare.

Day 21. Arrived home from an atrocious trip to Phoenix. The weather was horrible out there. Recent droughts and such. shrugs

I arrive home to find one solitary PM from, what must be this sites biggest moron.

Oh well, every site has at least one.

Anyway, I am guessing that the confusion is past for most everyone who is anyone.

My favorite quote from all the PM's since I arrived... "You won't have any trouble figuring out who the assholes are".. That was prophetic but I also found it to be fairly accurate.

Conclusion, TWHL has none worth mentioning.

Stay tuned to tomorrows journal entry. I will study next, why rice tastes better than noodles.

Day 19
Today finished without much in the way of study subjects. I only received one PM from a member still confused enough to bother studying. Received several PM's from people inquiring into the study though. The curious and well wishers are very polite and seem genuinely interested in the cause of the members confusion. They laugh and say they will keep in touch.

Day 18
I arrive after a few days to find that in my absence the confusion remains. I am happy to note that this because I had at first suspected it was my problem. Since it continued during my absence I can only ascertain that it is a deficiency on the part of the confused and in no way something I have done.

I have faith however that a solution can be found. The confusion appears genuine so I am hopeful.

Day 14,
Narrowly missed a second misunderstanding yesterday. I am noticing a distinct level of such events around here, not only involving myself, but many of the regulars that by now should have grown well beyond such trivialities.

Upon reflection, the research I have been doing into the poor level of reading might be the root cause. At first it was thought to be a simple case of English not being the first language but after further study this proves out to not being the case.

More study is warranted but I am beginning to suspect its simple immaturity and/or prideful separatisms. If this is the case, only time and maturity will cure it.

Stay tuned for more info.
