Why is Ati so popular among fans, and Nvidia seems to have lost the leading?

I think for reasons like this. The future of displays. Surround displays. The fact that they are inspired by Ati, not Nvidia.
Altough Ati still sucks at drivers xD.

I just updated to Ati Catalyst 10.2 from 9.8

Valve Hammer Editor 3.5 works fine again ( after 3 years).

YAY !

After this I'll wait for other guys to tell me if the following versions of Catalyst will still support Hammer editor :D

Inspired by the cool last journal post, I just couldn't help myself to use that piece of JavaScript.

Before you see the image: I apologize for any inconvenient modifications, the image should be treated as a joke.

I used ScreenGrab, a Firefox addon, to make a site screenshot.

I'm writing this journal from my school, in my informatics classroom. From the teacher's desk :D

We have a new teacher this semester, it's her first year in informatics( she was originalyl a mathematics teacher). And because I'm usually the best at informatics in my class, I'm like a secondary professor in my classroom.
It's pretty cool. It's a wounderful relaxing time for me :D
All I have to do is write some simple problems for my collegues at the blackboard and then I can sit at the teacher's desk computer. It has the fastest internet speed from the class.

It seems I'll have an easy life at school for the coming years.... :)

[EDIT] SC2 = StarCraft 2
Leakage !
SC2 HAS LEAKED !

Ok, seriously now, the beta version can be found on the torrents. Unfortunately there's no actual map to play, you can only view some replays.
But that doesn't matter. This is just a confirmation that sc2 is close to release. I just hope it won't be too expensive.

Here's what I do when I'm extremely bored, in 2 days :

What I do.

[EDIT] I was programming something in AutoIT and at a point(I was a little dizzy), instead of endfunc I accidentally wrote something else:

I lol'd hard, especially because it wasn't "coming from my brain" at that exact moment what I wrote, if you understand :))

The brain is something so complex that in some situations I find it hard to control my own brain.
It's like this, today the enthusiasm of programming caught me again so I decided to read about some miscellaneous things here and there. The problem is, throughout my reading I encountered several links\pieces of information that sparked my interest. And from those links I saw other links\pieces of information etc... ending up with a ton of tabs opened.
I even ended up installing a combined scripting-programming-batch language(something like an advanced BASIC), "AutoIT"(I focus on C++ though, but for fast funny things this is awesome). With this piece of shit, if you have da' skillz, you can create complicated software in hours !(ok this sounds ridiculous).
I also read that it's possible to have lucid dreams. It says that's a cool out of the body experience, creating your own universe. I always wanted to fly... I even had a cool dream where the sensation was almost real...But it's hard. You have to keep a dream journal and practice everyday "reality checkup" so that it goes somewhere inside your brain so that you can "remember" to do this in a dream. It's a somewhat progressive evolution, and at its peak is where the fun starts.

tldr: I wish I could control my "flow of interest" or something like that, so I can concentrate on one subject at a time.

In response to Joebama's journal.

I don't understand how L4D can be a great game, have great campaigns(with literally no storyline at all). Maybe the best thing about the game is visuals??(which are seriously outdated on modern computers like mine that run fluently games like crysis). No, I have nothing about graphics, I play games like OpenTTD for example.

My problem is with Valve's big theft of money. Grand Theft Valve. They exploit every part of their fucking outdated source engine to squeeze that last bit of money, because they are so LAZY to actually produce something new.

Zombies, killing like an idiot and stupid NPCs. I suggest you try Painkiller if you want something better.
L4D2 just strengthened my opinion on their hunt for money. The worst part is that they create a sick virtual world for most of the pre-adolescence boys which are very influenced by such kind of games.

But stop whining The_(c)Striker. You and the rest of other critics. It's useless. Popularity means all. I almost have nothing to comment on the game, but I express my opinions because the game is just overpriced. Seriously, it costs more than a game where somebody USED their mind to produce PUZZLES and a storyline like ep2 for example. L4D should fucking cost less that 5 euro.

Lumea asta e cu picioarele in sus...

I've wastedspent some time on enciclopedia dramatica, reading about 13 year old fagotry and seeing random images I shouldn'e have seen.
I begin to consider myself as a virgin when it comes to internet culture. Oh boy, what I've seen there.... hentai, furryes, not to say that almost every ad is pornographic.
You really need to have a rock solid psihic(don't know the word in english) to read a lot of things from that site.
I am disgraced and, quoting Urby, my faith in humanity is lost. I know, that site is subject to sarcasm and everything is not token in serious, but it displays the sad reality that most sites try to hide.
But on the other hand, I have to be optimistic because there are a lot of other optimistic people out there in the world, happy, normal people with a goal in life, with normal hobbies.

Sorry, I may seem a little desperate, the thing is I think I am, but I'm trying as hard as I can to lie myself that this is not the world that I live in and I should be happy.

Relax, take it eaaaaaasyyy....chillout music is good here :)

I just found out us Romanians are on the 4th place at the internet connection speeds.
The irony is that the "internetization" took place in Romania later than in other countries, like UK for example. But that gives us an advantage now: the equipments are more modern.

Here's the top: http://www.techpark.net/2009/04/08/internet-connection-speed-the-top-10-countries/

I couldn't found an updated top, but I saw in a forum discussion that our average speed climbed to 6,2 mbps(and that's exactly my internet speed...), Romania still being in the 4th place.

Well, maybe in the future we'll have gaming studios among the best ones in the world. We'll beat the shit out of the other countries :D.
very optimistic scenario

Heard of League of Legends? (lol, it's LoL ;) )

It's a cool new multiplayer game in beta phase. It's almost like Dota, in fact it's created by the team who made Dota, on a entirely new graphics engine. This kind of game is not an mmorpg and neither a rts. It's a new genre of game, if I remember it's called MOBA(Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Games).
I wasn't gonna download the client and install it, but a friend of mine insisted and I have to recognize, it's rather addictive. I'm at level 12 right now.

I joined it only this month and there where changes already. For example, the site changed its appearance.
There are all kinds of cool stuff in the game through which you can increase your champion's performance. Runes, mastery points....

I just want to let you know the game is very fun, and for those who like RTS, this will be like a magnet( I played lots of starcraft in the past, and I like a lot the "tower defend" maps, maybe that's why.... but I also loved standard battles).

IT SNOWS! YES YES YES YES YES!
I just woke up and watched outside the window. Everything is white, covered with snow. The snow is maybe like 20 cm already. It still snows.
This means only one thing: formula1 with plastic bags down the hills. It's really hardcore when you have the "maximum" speed and you just see the snow flying above you.

I bought Counterstrike Source... well, I wouldn't have bought it if some friends wouldn't tell me several times to buy it. It was only 3,75 euro anyway. And it's really not a big difference between it and the old counterstrike, besides the improved graphics, ragdolls and new models for weapons.
The gameplay hasn't changed.

Oh btw, today, just surfin' on the net, I saw probably the most awesome gif :
