1280 x 1920 is rather odd!
Either it's the native resolution on my 16:9 monitor, or I'm having memory problems again. 50/50 chance. CBA to do the math or go into my room and check right now.
But knowing I can do it in 16:9 means I can use as much room as I have on my monitor to do this, more buttons and readout boxes!
EDIT: Oh, just checked a screenshot I made, it's 1920x1080. I got the order wrong too.
Ha ha.
Kill me.

No. And you're too young for that.

Not sure what my chances of making anything good and winning would be, but I'll give this a shot.
Would you prefer the highres version to be 1024x768, or 1280x1920?

the vanilla HL equivalent of that scene on the same difficulty is much easier to get through.
You mean fighting a single grunt that may or may not spawn depending on what you did earlier? :P

It (BM's version) was a tough fight to be sure, but I found it was a good mid-game boss battle.

Anthropomorphism
Anthropomorphism is one of those things you generally have strong feelings about one way or the other. Some people dress up as anthropomorphic characters and go to "conventions", while others prefer to run them (the characters, people, or entire conventions) over in large tread-mounted vehicles while firing automatic weapons.
This review, however, is not about either of those kinds of people. I have no strong feelings one way or the other. Whatever floats your boat, just don't get up in people's face about it.
5/10.

So you can be banned for not doing anything. That makes sense.

It's EA's crappy* answer to steam. Pretty sure most TWHL'ers only use it for Battlefield 3.

*I've never used it myself, but I've heard nothing but bad things, aside from it having Battlefield 3 on it, which Steam doesn't, because EA won't allow it.

I had it crash once, due to a gibbing error involving the garg in surface tension. I think the velocity was too high or it intersected with the tower I was on. Didn't repeat though, doubt it'll come up often. Only time it did, though.

Okay, so first impressions from playing from Inbound to the surface lift in WGH (Approx. 2 hours gameplay for me)

Fucking Yes. The scientist dialog in AM gave a lot of character to specific scientists, such as the fashionista in the locker room. (Who I have nammed Stone, after the closest locker when I was racking my brain for a name) He goes on and on about the uniform, then when you put on your suit, he'll reminisce about the old HEV models.
The disaster was well scripted, though I miss bullsquid lake.

Gameplay all the way though was fun and intuitive, and the NPC's scripted scenes added a lot of depth that just wasn't t here in HL.

Two things I wasn't expecting were getting the magnum instead of a shotgun, and the Mp5 being set to burst fire. But that's okay with me.

If you guys are finding bugs, you should report them on the official forums.

I'm staying the hell away from them until I can play, but I'm sure the devs would appreciate knowing about bugs, so they can patch them out later.

I was always fine with Xen (except that one map right after Gonarch's lair), and wish they'd release it with the rest of BM, but I get why they're doing xen as a separate release; they just want to get the mod out there after so long working on it! I'm sure it will be released as a proper patch, overwriting the final map of LC with one that goes directly to Xen instead of ending, fixing any bugs that crop up between now and then.

As long as it's under a gig, I'm game for it being a separate download. ;P

EDIT: Come to think of it, I was always fine with the apparently unanimously-hated On a Rail, too.

Hopefully a coder will happen by soon, but if not, you could try PM'ing 2muchvideogames or Daubster, they'll set you on the right track. For models if you're making them yourself, it's going to be a long road. You'll need to select a modeling software with .SMD plugins, then learn it. Alternatively, HIT has a model depot with some weapon models of various real-world weapons (not just various versions of ones from HL) that you might be able to use. Just remember to credit the original authors!

Urby: Mah bad. Same minute.

If you're just doing weapon replacements, put them in your mod's models/ folder. (making sure they're named the same as the file in Half-Life's GCF/PAK you're replacing)
If you're making entire new weapons, you'll need to download the code SDK first.

I suppose I should actually contribute to this thread...
kaeza, try looking for a file called [the name of your map].max. change the file extension to .map and try to open that. Occasionally WC/Hammer corrupts a file for unknown reasons (even more recent versions for Source do this) and you have to use those emergency backup files that are made on compiles. (Or is it saves? Can't recall.)

Unfortunately, they're also fixing something that doesn't really need fixing, so all the standard grunts have to wear gas masks.
Which is a shame, because the face creation system allowed for a lot of different faces and accessories for the grunts' heads.
I realize the radio voices are a nostalgia point, but I don't see why every grunt needs to have them, especially when 2/3 of the regular grunts didn't wear gas masks in the first place.

Yeah, just go with something you want to make, model it, then do it again and again. One of my first actual models was a Glock 17. Thing sucked. So I redid it. Was better, but still not so good. So I did it again. I tried to get it into Half-Life as a viewmodel. Failed. But someday, I'll remodel it, and try to make it a viewmodel again.
And then there are the three times I made this single shot beauty;
