I didn't even win 3rd place wth. Maybe if the people judging the maps were even good at mapping at all themselves it would be fair.

That, son, is the definition of a poor loser.

I might have to enter a Portal based compo, even though I haven't mapped for source in like 2 years.

What's wrong with the new Catalysts? Just because people don't think they're as "stable" as an older release doesn't mean anything.

Just don't use the beta drivers, because then you're taking a risk.

I heard that Ati catalyst 7.11 version is the most stable , but my fear is that it will downgrade some of the video card abbilties and performance .

That's impossible. Unless, of course, the drivers are older than your card.

No one said a school shooting was going to occur because of this, see:

We simply said it was in bad taste, and it gave people the wrong impression on what his intent really was.

Just because one thing that happens more often in one country than another doesn't make recreating that thing any better. Not just Americans are effected by school shootings that happen in the U.S., so it's all just a matter of being in bad tastes.

No, because a town is much different than a school.

Have you seen any town massacres on the news? No, never.

It's different when you start targeting specific areas / people. A school is very specific, especially if it's recreated very accurately.

That makes sense.

Hurt them enough to where they won't want to continue without the risk of being killed the next jump. However, the only way to gain health would be to start over at the jump they just failed.

I kinda like that idea.

I think I understand.

So you basically want it so if they don't make it successfully to the floor below (which means they die), then they will get teleported, or spawn, to where they were at.

But if they DO make it, you don't want them moved, which a teleporter will do regardless if they make it or not, meaning a regular tele setup will not work.

That's a tough one.

That told me the idea was to go in and kill students and teachers.

You never described students / teachers could be there as jokes. But in all honesty, what player would understand them? Only people at your school would get it, and as far as I know, only you would get the jokes because no one else goes to your school.

How does students standing around in crossfire, more than likely being killed themselves, 'make the map look cool'? I always thought architecture, lighting, and ambiance was key to a cool map, not potential casualties looking like school mates.

And what the fuck is a "dp"?
