Far be it from me to police everything that goes on in these forums, I decided that I'd take the time out to simply sit back and have a little chat (thankyou V for Vendetta) about TWHL.
From what I'm hearing, it seems there's a rift forming between many members. Rather than berate you, I'd thought I'd just remind you all of the common thread that brings us all together: Half-Life.
We're all here because of that one little game and I think it's something we all should remember. Take the time to extend a hand of friendship (or at the very least, courtesy) to newer, more inexperienced members. Yes, sometimes they can be a bit nooby, but a little patience can go a long way. If you really can't stand it, just PM an admin.
I can't stop you all from being tards, but I do urge you all to take a moment and think about what you're about to post. We all come from different parts of the world: it's impossible to predict the reaction of all the members here.
Last, but not least, have fun. Crazy threads are all well and good: just don't go berserk.
Try not to spam this topic too much, k?

The soundscapes are located in the GCF files. In the GCF, there is a folder called scripts and the default ones are in there. Ones you create go into the scripts folder on your HDD.

I love conspiracy theories. My view on them is that either side could theoretically be correct: at least we get to hear of what the other side has to say, rather than simply get spoonfed an outline of "what happened".
You can't make games without DX.Wrong. OpenGL is a far more stable platform for graphics, and it's compatible with OS X, Windows XP and Linux distros. Doom 3 was built on OpenGL architecture.
In fact, OpenGL has a lot of advantages over DirectX.
