Pepper does it really matter if I use the .lin file or leakmarker? Leakmarker just marks the spot the lin file says the leak is in.

Can anybody recommend good ways to find leaks? I use leakmarker and it's quite helpfull but it never points exectly at my leaks, and so does the point file. I had one leak that leakmarker pointed to one part of the room and the leak was in another one.

There has to be a better way then just searching for it a long time. :confused:

If the BSP is in Half-life/valve/maps it could be any kind of error that accured during compiling, or in the map.

Post your compiling log and check for problems.

Do you have the BSP file in your RMF directory? If you have it there then just copy it to valve/maps! :)

Don't use media player. I recommend DIVX or Nero player. Most movies have no problems on these programs... exept the really damaged ones.

If you are using normal then in the window that pops when you press F9 has vis and rad thingies. Choose normal in both of them.(or what ever it is called in there

First of all get ZHLT. (look at the links page in this site) They are much better compiling tools then quake's tools.

As for your problem: did you post the whole compiling log. If so you forgot to run vis and rad.

Edit#2:

I forgot to write something- Don't use spaces in map/entities names. It's really bad. Instead of the space use underscores- _

Edit:

Don't use capital letters too.

Post your compiling log and check for any problems. (map menu-> Check for problems)

It might be because of a melformed face(in the check for problems window it's called: texture paticular to axis)

The egg came before the chicken and I'll tell you why. Evolotion is a siries of mutations. If the mutation is better then the original one it will survive, if not(and it happens alot) it might even die. The genetic deta is created when the egg is furtilaized(excuse my awfull spelling), that includes if it will be mutated in any form.

So the chicken we know to day was first created in the egg.(mutated from a diffrent but similar bird)

Conclution: The egg came before the chicken.

Again you are wrong. The hormons that start the urges are only released at the age of 12. The body is still developing until then. Maybe the orgins are ready and the female already has egg cells(how do you call them in english) but a 5 years old kids usally don't have sexual urges. You make me sick, do you really think 5 years old kids have such desires? Did you have such desires? I remember that I didn't!

That depends on what you call a child. Most humans start to have sexual urges around the age of 12. There are exeptions though, so don't start saying stuff like: "I had sexual urges since I was 9"

This IS the all time classic of this specific genere.
Seconded. It has some weak spots though. Like the part in a pit where you need to jump from a rail gun turret to another, and so on untill you reach the top of the pit... or even worse... the time they are missle turrets instead...

Another weak point is that usefull bug: the game doesn't remember the amount of health you had after you load a game. Great way to gain health but sometimes annoying if you have more then 100 health.

Here's a link to a nice little game that can inspire you and help you improving your game. It's controls are good, graphics are amazing for it's time and most important it has a crosseir... something that lacks in Doom2D and Codename: Gordon.

Valve wont kill you since the game is based on one of their games. It will only give them publicty. After you finish it publish it in the steam forums. Maybe they'll accept it and make it official.

The second before the last city pic has awfull buildings, really block and bland. Snarkpit has a lovely tutorial on making buildings by reno... I think it's for Hl1, but I'm not sure. Anyway it doesn't matter since it's almost the same.

Where is that invalid texture... I already fixed the other errors! I'm going to remove all irelevent detail and texture the whole map with one texture! Afterward I'll make it my own. I advice the rest of you to do that too, kasperg did it too much detailed from an unknown reason.

Didn't get the idea... you need to create a post-disaster area that will be afterward destroyed? I don't like the map... too much detailed, if it wouldn't be so detailed then it would give more freedom of thought. Now that it's detailed I'm stuck with that theme! Couldn't you just make it plain and simple with one with one texture, not with any theme?

Anyway I hate the idea if I can't can only add small detail. Give us liberty to do everything in the inside with the same layout. Without that it is just kasperg's map with diffrent textures, sound, NPCs and lighting!

It's a solid entity. Create a block textured with aaatrigger over the area you want the players to be healed and press cntrl+t. Choose Trigger_hurt from the list in the entities attributes.
