Well as i said, there was a +50 page thread for hundred's of people who it clearly didn't work for, so you're in the minority there.

Unfortunately I have no basis to back up apon because valve simply deleted it.

It has nothing to do with the mac, it has to do with the updates, when valve started doing the mac updates, they completely forgot they even had a pc base, and just left everything broken as is, AFIAK everything is still broken but i haven't checked lately, either way source was left crippled for well over 5 months so it doesn't matter anyways.

There used to be a +50 page thread (!!!) on the steam forums but it was deleted by a local moderator, for no apparent reason i guess, and valves excellent customer support kicked in by copyapasting from the FAQ several times, but the sourcesdk still remained broken for many many people.

It's relevant to the uses of sourcesdk, which if you couldn't tell already, is completely broken, and has been broken for over 5 months now.

Hey, speaking of which, source mods themselves are broken as well, come to think of it.

(As far as I know the source engine is still broken, could have been fixed since the last time i checked, but judging by Dimbark's post, I'm assuming it's still broken.)

I also fail to see how any of this is relevant to the mod, let's not cause a shitstorm now.

I understand how he was frustrated with Miles, but he didn't have to be such a blunt asshole with Thomas, he could have just simply explained his problem, the nature of it, but instead right off the bat he completely sidesteps the question and starts insulting steam support, I've lost all sympathy for Devon.

Also striker, i recommend that you link to it instead, those two images bring my entire computer to it's knees when even the smallest bit of them show.

Most people don't pirate to sample. They'll pirate it, finish it and then won't touch it again. The majority of pirates don't fit the "wasn't going to buy it anyway" mould.
Can I be a good example here? I disagree and i suppose i Don't fit in with the majority in this case, I downloaded Splinter Cell conviction after being very skeptical after seeing all the trailers and gameplay footage (I realy didn't like where they were taking the series), then after 'sampling' it for 2 weeks I deleted it, and my play to the game was limited to the 360 demo, after my 360 died, Onlive launched and I only played it through that, and now that it's on sale for 22$ I purchased it and It's now sitting on my account, ready for download.

So really, what happened here is the exact opposite of what some of you are saying; Ubisoft didn't lose a potential customer... They gained one, because I tried the game and actually liked it, mind you my 360 was in the shop so I couldn't download the demo at the time.

In fact, they get exposed to the content (game, music, whatever) and that equals increased customer base, which increases sales.
Think of it this way, I purchase a ticket to go see inception at the imax, I watch it and think it's great, then recommend it to all my friends, why can't I get the same thing from obtaining a game, regardless of whether or not it's legally purchased? It makes no difference.

(Minus the side effects of glitches\patches.)

WTF indeed, I built my own rig for $300.
Same, get your stuff second hand and not from retailers if you can.

Around 380$ rig, i believe:

GIGABYTE GA-K8N Pro-SLI
AMD Athlon 64 +3000
2 GB KINGSTON DDR2 RAM
Ati Radeon HD 4650 1 GB
Western Digital Caviar 160GB SATA Hard Drive

And everything else (The monitor, the keyboard, mouse...) I already had and didn't add any extra cost, it was quite outdated yes, but it ran all the newer games fine, just on mostly medium\high at lower resolutions.

CRC errors means that it's failed to pass a CRC check meaning the data uploaded was corrupt, you have 852 CRC check errors.

in Post your screenshots! WIP thread Post #287947
Minimum spec for HL1 is very low; even an integrated card provided it's not ancient should be able to play the game and draw some sprites without dropping to unplayable framerates
It still has to draw as many pixels on the screen that the game is running at, have you even tried running half-life (Original\Vanilla\Unmodified) on a integrated graphics card (Please keep your mobile ati HD radeon 5000 series out of this, that's just stupid.) at your monitors native resolution? Chances are, it doesn't work. If THAT doesn't work, what makes you think something even the slightest bit more complicated will work better?

Another thing after looking at the screenshot, it looks like the engine has over 4 (!) particles running at the exact same time, all overlapping.

Ever tried recreating 'mass physics' in gmod with explosives? Yeah, that slows down your computer.

Then why show them? Show what it can really do.
I imagine It's not to show the engine to it's fullest, but to just show a couple of the basic engine features instead.
