How do I make a light hanging off of a cord?

Whenever I make the light (A model) it just falls to the ground, so I end up with an odd glow in the air. How do I make a model attached to one of those realistic cords?

I will not use the gravy gun at this point...

I have TWHL in my favorites, and whenever I try to join, I get this message:

"Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, support@netfirms.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log."

Just a heads up that something may be wrong.

I've never known a sister to be mine, nor have I ever had a sister, in fact, I've never had anything even near a sister, nor has on of that kind died, but I first of all deny the presence of a sister, which has not actually died, but was formated in my head, as a lost relative, who most fatefully died in a fateful car accedent, with which created the lie that I have a sister, but, I will tell you now, I never have had a sister in my life, and I do not deny not having a sister, but deny having a sister at all, who did not, in fact, die in a fateful car accedent, which was made up in my sick sick head.

Well, the only problem I had was when I made a mistake, instead of keeping typing (Incorrect Grammar), I just went back and corrected it...

I lost like 10 WPM there...

I'm known as a "Spastic" typer and clicker, which makes me exceptionally good at CS.

How do I get G-man to realistically say my message?

I understand how to format the .wav and everything in that nature, but I want G-man to say my message, while his mouth moves according to the ////\// (Forgot what that was called ;) )

I know this is an easy question, and I have done it before, but it slipped my mind and I forgot how... Plus the map that I had him talking before was in New Problem, which was deleted when my hard-drive went BZZZAPPPP!!!

New Problem.

I was in charge of that...

Everyone on the team disapeared exept for Ministeve and me. He left cause he was pissed when he found out I was an American.

I believe the contents and all of New Problem were wiped clear when a virus destroyed my computer.

You will need to use trains.

I believe there is a train tutorial on this site by atom.

Look at it, and if you have any problems with it, ask me. I know tons about trains, since you can do almost anything with trains.

Make a brush (Your Piston) and turn it into a func_train. This obviously is what moves. You can place this anywhere in your map as long as it is not outside the map, because that will cause leaks. It doesn't matter where you put it.

Make a Path_corner (Point entity) where you want your train to start. name it something like "train1". Then, go into your func_train and make the "Path_corner" thing the same name as your path_corner. This will make your piston centered on the path_corner at the start of the map.

Then, you can make multiple path corners. Make sure that you make the "Next Path_corner" option on your first one be the name of your next path_corner.

I'm sure you can figure it out from there.

Any questions, please ask, I typed this in a hurry so its probably confusing, and I might have names entities different things ;)

Looks good.

Mine is... one of those bright sets. The shows called Lamba, cause I was too lazy to make my own textures ;)

There are 3 contestants. they start in little cages, with an interesting audience (And Zombie Cameramen). The Alien_slave toyourleft goes first, but fails and gets SMASHED. Then, you get let out to do your stunt. You have 3 doors, each lead to a new task to complete. There is

HeadCrab Room:

They fall from the sky, and you need to live long enough til the door opens.

Egyptian Jewl:

You have to get across a room doing some Mario style jumping to retrieve a Jewl. Moving platforms included.

Mad Dash:

The floor behind you starts to fall. RUN!!

When you win... you become the winner, and the returning champ (Grunt) Gets put in the Grinder... MUHAHAHA

Well, I have bad Long-term memory.

I remeber once writing a tutorial for trains. I was going to make a mapping site with my tutorials, but, never got around to it (As most things I plan to do)

Well, I was mapping, and forgot how to make a train work :o

I had to go back and read my very own tutorial... :lol:

Seeya man. I'm sorry I didn't get to become aquanted with you. From what you said about yourself, you sound a lot like me :o . I do watercolor art, not much graphic though. I compose music in my spare time (When I'm not mapping). I actually finished a violin concerto that was performed :o (By me) ;) . And obviously, I'm interested in Game Design. I write novels, but I write Sci-Fi trillers. Haven't been very successful there, but its fun for me to create a story.

wow... this ain't good...

Next mix, we should limit the technical stuff we can do, because I guess the .rmfs work differently on our different computers with our different settings.

We'll try and make TWHLmix3 more basic (Though it will be in Source, right? Well, a vote will decide that), but for now, lets see if we can pull off TWHLmix2 :D

I'm sure we can.

Gargantua, don't try and make anything as complicated as Unbreakable... I know that this is your time to "Show off" and compare yourselves with the other mappers here, but just try and make your part fit with the rest.

BTW, the duedate of the project will be extended, since revisions, testers, and other stuff will take a while...

How'z about some time in July?

That gives us a little over 2 months, Plus I will have some time then. My part in this will come into play a little later during the mix. I'll be adding a begining with G-man talking to you, and an ending with G-man talking to you. This kind of adds the essence of a storyline, plus I wana do that cool voice: "Its time to choose". ;)

T'was just an idea. I was gunna talk to Andy about it anyway, and he doesn't seem wowed. I'd be inclined to just let atom be for a bit, since he's been doin' stuff recently .
I guess I screwed it up by posting it. If you asked him about it, people would have been more inclined to listen. This is exactly why I had another account. People don't really listen to BrattyLord, since I was known for some really stupid posts in the past, plus I used to spam... a lot...

Gmans_agent was just my second account. A second account could always come in handy, plus, people always would answer Gmans_agent's questions, but when BrattyLord asked them, I got nothing but "ohh, Bratty's got a question".

It helped, but for now on, I'll just ask questions with good ol' BrattyLord :D

The reason is, If I acted noobish with the Gmans_agent, people would help me with my question better than if I posted with BrattyLord. People always wanted to help a noob out, but people probably wouldn't help me out...

make sure that the trigger is right next to the glass. a very undesirable effect would happen if you hit the trigger too soon. As long as the trigger is at least 1 little point from the glass, you will still trigger it without getting hurt.
