Latest version of Hammer, 3.5
MilkShape3d for the models

water puddle:

add the liquids.wad into the wad files your using,
next select a liquid texture, then select the cylinder brush, now create it on the ground, right click on it, select tie to entitie and choose func_water, (i'm [i]pretty sure[/i] its there)

Well, since i hate steam so much, other people do here too.
i've decided to make a site where it's all about hating steam,
and where visitors can become members, the site is currently
under construction, but when it's finished i'll put the link here.

The first competition is over at my site, and wrangler249 came out victorious, and wrangler249 and me will be judgin entrants to this competition:

The Horror!

Information: "Make a good half-life map, but it has to be scary, the setting can be wherever you want, in a lab, graveyard, church etc. just make the map spooky so we'll shit our pants playing it!"

The map has to be for HalfLife, No Mods, and no spirit
you can submit the .rmf if you want to, but you dont have to.
custom stuff can be included (models, sounds, textures etc.) but it has to be in custom game format.

How to enter:

Go to my site, not now but i will post a reply when i have it all set up.

BeaMeR, i had a map made with text's in it, but it was never finished, i could e-mail it to you, and you could take a look how i got the text to work. You can do whatever you want with it, i wont finish it, you can finish it and post it if you want.

because the first compo is over on my site, and i'm starting a new one, so any ideas? -the winner of the last compo was Wrangler249, so he is the judge of this compo, if you win this compo, you will be the judge of the next, and so on..

yes, game_text's are better, because with env_message's you have to edit the titles.txt. alright this is what you should do:
make a game_text entity put set it's name to whatever you want,
then make a box that the player can run through and put it as a trigger_once, in it's target properties put the name of your game_text.
<also,>>game_text's usually dont work with trigger_auto's, at least not on my comp. :) <<

you just unzip the zip into your half-life directory, the folders should be created automaticaly. But for some mods, if your runnin HL-Game of the year edition, they wont work. :(

and how to run the mod:

run the hl executable (.exe) and from menu choose custom game then choose the mod from the list, then choose new game or hazard course (etc.)

that should be it, if that doesn't work i could give you the directory structure of a mod, if that helps. :)
