Alright ZL.
Happy happing.
yah, but the bible says he was light skinned. I think...actually, the Bible says that Jesus was a Jew, so he would be of that race. Since he lived in the Middle East, he probably was a little darker skinned. Why does it matter anyway?
And he WAS married...
The bible of Christianity is supposed to be the perfected moral codeNot really. The Bible is a group of different books. Although I believe that it is a book of God, humans tend to make errors, and somehow things also might have been slightly changed in the translation from language to language.
we're supposed to be as merciful as god and stuff like that.I don't think its humanly possible to be as merciful as God. We are suppose to be reverent to God, kind and lowering ourselves to others, and also be kind to ourselves. Thats just my interpritation.
No matter what, this will turn into a flame war, one I will not participate in.It only will if we make it one. Lets discuss things without being irresponsible
I think the bible is just one big book of rules.A book of rules it is, although it is more than that. The word of God is intended to us so that we may live better lives in preperation for our eternity in heaven.
If i were a christian i would be ashamed, since it has caused so damn much bloodshed in the past.
Why doesn't everyone just get on with this life, assume it's the only one we get, and make the damn most of it instead of squandering it to an "all-merciful God" who in that case should be most pleased with people not wasting what he may have givenGod wants us to be happy in this world. God wants us to be kind to others, and to live a good life. God lets us enjoy this world. It is a gift to us. In Genesis, which I recently read over again, God gives us everything to us. Genesis 9 is where God gives us meat (Which I showed my vegiterian friends )
us!
If people spent all the effort they do into religion and arguing about it on actually helping others as most of the "holy books" say, the world would be a far better place. We do help others. That is part of our religion. We put effort into helping others. I spent over 5 hours last week building houses with Habitat for Humanity so that some people can have a nice home. This is done through the Church. I also spent time making food for the homeless people that we bring into our church and give a place to sleep for the Room In the Inn program. I even donated a watercolor painting I highly liked to the Habitat For Humanity auction so that they could raise money for the program. Friends of mine went to live in Africa to help the people their have good living conditions. Everywhere, Christians are helping others, using the example that Jesus Christ set for us. Please don't take us the wrong way because of some people during the Crusades who thought it would be cool to kill people .
just look at some of these multi million dollor churches, do you think that makes God happy? the bible does not command us to build extravagent places of worship. maybe thats beside the point, i dont know. im no expertI agree with you there. I do not agree with those Churches who make those multi-million dollar places of worship, rather than using it to help suffereing people. Although I do not agree with giving money directly to troubled people, we need to channel that money to them by, lets say, getting them jobs, or making them homes, or babysitting their kids so that they can go to work.
How about we just map first ask questions later?Thats what I think, though I would say it:
Or that's probably a bad idea...
You know, we could come to some kind of an agreement with the tags. We have a hell of a long time to do it though, so we should have no problem.
