That doesn't seem to stop servers from making you download 40 WarCraft 3 sounds to accompany their custom power-ups, etc.

I'm pretty sure what you're trying to do is impossible. I've never attempted it myself, but I've thought about it before and concluded that there simply wasn't a way. The axis it rotates on is governed by those flags, and you can't deviate from that.

In the end it doesn't matter, it's all just a source of information and can just as easily be incorrect as information from anywhere else. I am not in opposition to any of those things, I am in opposition to this thread and the fact that DocRock just stole a huge block of text without even linking to the source for fear people might figure out that he was incapable of making valid and solid points of his own. I am in opposition to any thread of this topic on TWHL because TWHL stands for The Whole Half-Life, and I see nothing in that name that has to do with 9/11 conspiracies.

I think I'd use method either /b/ or Strideh's way, simply because of their neatness. Although I admit, my r_speeds have never been high enough that I've needed to pay attention to a few extra polygons being drawn.

The 6 cell battery reportedly gets 1-2 hours run time. So yeah, that's not much at all, but it sounds like it's mostly going to be plugged in at your desk, or otherwise used for very generic stuff when unplugged. That's more than what my extremely dated IBM laptop gets, and I find that perfectly adequate.
If you do need more battery life though, you may be able to buy another bigger battery (8 or 12 cell maybe? I don't know what Asus offers.)

The thing is though, it's not really being sold by major retailers, so I found this place, which apparently either ships all the parts that you select to you, or puts it together for free. That's what I'd get.

My Dell can't handle it, but the duel-core pentium chip should do it nicely.You say it like a more economically priced modern Dell laptop wouldn't beat the shit out of that Macbook for gaming. Not that I like Dells or anything, but your comparison just sucks, because your Dell is invariably dated, and probably wasn't even in the same price range as an Apple when you bought it.
Anyway, it doesn't matter, because Macs are just completely out of his price range. The only gaming-capable laptop Apple makes is the Macbook Pro, and it starts at a whopping 2000 dollars (U.S.), so it's out of the question.
Okay, you're right, optical drives and I suppose hard drives in some cases are easily replaced, but I'd say a new screen is a bit pushing it.
Upgradeability in laptops? You kidding? The most you'll ever be upgrading is the RAM.
