Well, this is kind of a tribute to Hammer & mapping in a new-ish and different way.
I drew this at my aunt's summer house, she had an ole' 60s van, that hasn't been used for ~10 years, so I've decided to use out some of my old spray paint, lying around on it.
Note, that this was the first graffiti, I've drawn in about 2 years, so the text quality is indeed crap.. (I only drew a sketch of the hammer, no sketch for the text)

The whole joke was great, although the posing needed more work in some frames. While the conversation was quite well-made - I really didn't like the posing in the frames, where the guards were looking at the ceiling. The poses, while laying down really didn't look natural.
And as Rotator said, a few more cam angles/close-ups could've been nice.

Anyways - good job. :D

There should be a CVAR for it, or this will destroy competetive CSS. Its quite a crap idea, just like CSS. But hey, what do i care, 1.6 is much better than CSS. I stopped playing it on release, the hitboxes are pretty screwed up, getting a headshot has never been easier. And god they got rid of the headshot animation, i loved that thing. Overall the more valve mess with the game, the crapper it becomes, I never lagged in 1.5 but i have constant problems in 1.6. I want back 1.5. Also I am one of the little amount of people who does not agree that a little bit of realism in a game is good, I quite hate it. Like fatigue and junk, it just annoys me. Its all in your opinion.
Well, the current version has far less bugs, than the release one. That's a pretty conservative point of view, actually. I understand, that CS:S is different from 1.6 (new engine, slightly changed gameplay, etc.) although bitching about 1.6 and complaining, that it has more bugs, than 1.5 is just bullcrap.
1.6 is the same game, built on the same engine, with some bugs fixed and 3 new weapons added. The gameplay is completely unchanged and if 1.6 lags - I'd suggest looking for a proper server.

And I agree, that CS:S could use some new weapons. A few more machineguns, shotguns and maybe smgs would be pretty interesting.

I don't really understand, what's so stupid, about offering an ammount of money for a map. After all - making a proper map takes loads of time, effort and various skills, not to mention compile times and testing..

Upload it to the problem maps vault, if you really want to.
I'd suggest using a func_bombtarget brush entity, instead of info_bombtarget. It's much easier to define the target location with that ent. It also has a target field, just like the info_bombtarget.

Well, that's the undetailed version, so the wpolies 're around 600 @ the top of the chimney.

And I'm planning ~1300 at the top, with the cliffs, surrounding buildings and detail added.

Changing the weapon's prices dynamically is a really great idea.
Not only will it change the gameplay and force the players to use a larger variety of the weapons given ingame, but it'll also be quite interesting to see, how this will change the clans' tactics, in clan matches. :)

Well if you're looking into remaking maps (complete waste of time and skills, if you ask me) - you can remake every brush in that map (make a new brush, over the decompiled one and remove the old one).
That's, how remakes 're made and trust me - you don't want to waste your time on crap like that.

Original maps (no matter, how crappy they might be) are always considered better, than remakes (unless you ask some complete csgeeks.. ;) ).

No need to create a separate topic for a simmilar problem. :

The G-Gfx.wad files has to be in your mod directory. E.g 'Half-Life/valve/g_gfx.wad', if you're running it on HL, 'Half-Life/cstrike/g_gfx.wad', if you're running it on CS.

What kind of 'good textures' textures do you need?

I'm not entirely sure, although I think, that you have to add "-steam" to the "Additional Map Parameters" box, in the compile dialog.

I had a problem simmilar to this one, with HL2.. Hope this helps. :)

Chapter 3 begins at the entrance of the facility, Chapter 1 ends in the city.
You just have to map the ride to the facility sequence. Try working on it, don't worry much about connection to the other chapters, that'll be done in the end..

Okay, it's pretty simple.
I've been cleaning up my HL dir. recently and noticed, that my very first map was missing.

de_watertower (the first version)

I remember uploading the newest version of watertower somewhere, although the earlier version was lost. I'd just like to archive that map, as my first piece of work (even if it's utter crap). I know, that it's been unable to download it for a pretty long time, although if some of you still have it - i'd be very grateful, if you could send it to me via email/MSN..

The main difference, between the versions is, that the new version had improved lighting (orange-ish dusk), while the first version was plain yellowish. The new version also had PCs, on the desks at the laboratory (the main building), while the old one had plain desks.

The only file required from the map would be de_watertower.bsp

If you can - please search your cstrike/maps dir. for it and see, if it's the old version.. It'd be a real pitty, if the map was completely lost.. :(

You don't have to remove/edit any HL sounds.
All you have to do is to remove the HEV sentences from the sentences.txt and place it in your mod's directory.. :)

I simply want it to break down a wall, after the player shoots it down, thus letting him advance into the level.

If it's not possible to define the monster_apache's crash destination - is it possible to fake it in any realistic way?
