I already have an SSD. That's not the issue. I'm debating on whether or not I want to spend another 100 dollars for shits and giggles.
I've been thinking about buying a Velociraptor for my program installs. I'm still not sure if I should or not. My Seagate is pretty fast as it is.

You can't find it because it varies hugely.
The notion of "common" is hard to pinpoint, as common could mean a laptop, general use desktop, etc, or someone's, say, Velociraptor HDD.

I forget the name of it, but I know it has rice fields, but yeah I know what map your calling a cluster fuck. I played it last night attacking. Possibly the worst map I've ever played in a battlefield game. It's impossible.
Operation Hastings is easily the best. It's really fun and pretty balanced.
The rest of the maps are great, too, but like you said can be kinda outrageously imbalanced.

For the past week I finally started playing BC2: Vietnam which I bought when it was on presale. It's loads of fun.
What if you just keep the player in from the last round that won, health and all? Make it even more of a challenge.

I started playing TF2 again recently. As well as Bad Company 2.

New monitor got here. It's beautiful.
I've come to the conclusion that going from Mass Effect 2 to this game was a bad choice.
There was so many things in Mass Effect that I wanted to be in Fallout, mainly the dialogue. It kinda made me skip a lot of it, for some reason. I just got bored too easily.
That being said, I just did my first play through. I sided with the NCR with the help of the boomers and Brotherhood of Steel.
Didn't particularly like the ending, but oh well.
Also, I did that one perk that makes weird stuff happen, whatever it's called. I can't say I ever actually noticed anything weird.
I'm going to play through again. I think being evil in this one will be fun.

I wanted to be neutral. Apparently playing through with the NCR makes that impossible, because every one you kill gives you good karma. I ended up being very good and it pissed me off.

The speed at which calculating pi means nothing in terms of PC performance. CPUs calculate things in very specific ways, and just because your PC can calculate pi very quickly doesn't mean it's better or worse then any other CPU.
Case in point: Intel CPUs are better at rendering video over AMD. Tests prove this. Doesn't make Intel CPUs better, however.

Advantages, though? Boot time is 10 seconds to desktop and using Firefox.

The only real CPU intensive thing I've done so far is converted a video file, and it went very quickly. I don't have much to compare it to, but I know it's been handling what I've been giving it so far.

Yah. SSD's have a few years before they're commercially viable to overtake HDDs.
You might use SSDs for program use, but as far as file storage it's not even worth it.
