I link to that map because it was the last map ive played before deciding to ask about this. when tree models are present in a map (like that one), any of the flat parts that are supposed to be leaves come up with blue or black around them, like a texture that hasnt been solid 255'd. anything you can give me on this one?

i dont think most people apart from the maps creator really care what a maps comments are, a recent map comments box on the front page is a waste of space.

Also, a lot more dweebs comment on maps with stupid and pointless comments. Eshpeshiali stupid maps.

i used to play it all the time, but i only play it every now and then nowadays. I still think its a good quality game, but I understand completely how others might not share my opinion. BTW i play LoD, and nothing online. I've only ever beaten the game right through (including hell mode) with a barbarian and a necromancer, and the necro was only a few weeks ago.
RPG's have moved on greatly since then and I personally am waiting to see if Diablo III lives up to its predecessors.
I agrees totally here, however.

so, just so i can set something up myself and try to help, you want barney to go open a doordown a corridor, but as he's walking, headcrabs appear and kill barney without him fighting back, but just continuing to try and get to the door, right?

if i may ask, why do you not want barney to shoot at the headcrabs?

and just in case i got what you wanted wrong and you want barney to kill the crabs then go back to the door, a game_counter might be your salvation.
(so he can die along the way) but resume his path when done
its just that bit wasnt too clear.

i find hldm is better anyway, cause you take a headshot or two in cs and you're dead. hldm gives you a chance to actually do something other than see who can aim faster.

isnt there a way to use one scripted_sequence for both an idle animation and a action animation (unless that was wat srry just said, and I didnt understand)? Its been a looong time since i worked with animations.

Actualy if you face north and hold your arms at 90 degrees, your right arm is indicating east.
The way I did it, my right arm was indicating north. It depends on which way you hold your arms, left or right. And so endeepens the problem =)

3- Do you mean that the map had no hostages, bombs, etc. and was just the t's and ct's killin' each other? 'Cause if it was, you could replicate that by putting one hostage in a map that is inaccessible to anyone in any way (like sticking them in a box away from the rest of the level). The only problem with this is that when the time runs out, the terrorists would always win. (my knowledge of CS is limited, and may have some flaws)

incidentally, pulling the conversation back to the argument about the half-life 2 episodes being half-life 3 for a moment (cause i couldn't find a conclusion)... :\

The way I see it is that the episodes are like the rest of half-life 2. Cause I used to play Serious Sam a lot, The First Encounter and The Second Encounter were two games that were really the 2 halves of the first Serious Sam. Same goes for half-life 2?... :|

Hardly anyone even knows the serious sam games, and most who do said it sucked... but I grew up with fps's. :D

uhmm... i dont suppose anyone knows where the teleport_destination is in comparison to where you are teleported? I mean, does the destination mark the bottom of where the player will be or the center or what?...

So if you want to get the player to be teleported so his feet are on the ground straightaway, where do you put it?

okay, here's the question. is there a way for a button to trigger a multi_manager, but if that button is pressed again before the multi_manager finishes, that multi_manager resets and does not trigger anything it had not yet triggered?

the crucial part of what i'm trying to do is having the remainder of the multi_manager not being triggered after the button is pressed again.

NOTE: i could really use an answer asap, please!

You should be able to do what you want with a func_wall_toggle.
Tie the visible part of your wall to func_illusionary
You have to have two brushes in the same place. One is a func_illusionary (it is the wall that is visible, but can be walked through).
have another brush of the same size placed at the same spot. Tie that brush to func_wall_toggle, set its render mode to Solid, FX Ammount to 0 (making it invisible) and select its "Start Invisible" flag.
The other is a func_wall_toggle, which, as quoted, is invisible. That way, when the wall_toggle is triggered, it prevents you going back through the wall, but you cannot see it. You can only see the func_illusionary.

That help?
