1) Entire HL / HL2 Series 2) Flight Simulator Series 3) Test Drive: Unlimited... although online sucks 4) Age of Empires III 5) Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 & 2..... but NOT 3, coz it sucked!
There's more... but those are the ones I remember!
your phone company should be able to do a line test... for free. They get you to hang up and then it rings weirdly, then they call you back telling you if there's anything wrong
Looks great! Can't really see much from the screeny, but it definately follows suits to your other maps!! From the looks of it those roofs are curved right?... the near one looks just like a slope and very boring.
Although imo, I would probably cover the massive gap up so the player can't go space-walking... lol!
Pillars are.... boring atm, unless they have any details which I can't see. Could you post another screenshot with better lighting?
Is that an actual sky-box or is it a textured box?!
These compiles have been run without vis and rad so the result isn't going to be exactly as it would be when fully compiled. As I see it, models take their light values from the texture they are...on, although I think its different with the player model.
It would have a to be steady 24fps though... no dips, which are frequent when gaming, even when capping a lot below a systems capability.
You can check the frame-rate if you have a tv card in your comp - just run FRAPS and it will show up on the TV! ...found out by accident!
I too think that it might be slightly possible to see the difference between 60 and 100 fps, but I think its for different reasons, ie, how the game runs - unlike TV.... not sure though :
Also... seriously, you might wanna cap your frames lower to reduce the stress to your GPU - since it has the capacity to run faster it will try to will will result in more heat, louder fans running, etc, etc....
You might as well cap at about 60 fps.
Also, in todays terms, HL2 isn't exactly advanced - try running Oblivion or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. on it and that will show its true potential.
...Another thing which I have found strange is that I get much lower fps in HL than HL2.... weird?!?!?
Ummmm... yeah, its legal, [cough] sure. Contacting Microsoft will be useless - they won't care. Try contacting the retailing in you can and go from there.
Yeah, although proper air-cooling isn't necessary as I'm watercooling - I will have an intake / outake fan. I liked some of Lian Li's and Silverstone's cases which had the PSU at the bottom and an entire chamber sectioned out dedicated to it... that would be good. I'll just have to made do!!
My PSU does get very hot (Antec 550W TPII TruePower) when gaming, but other than that, I just wana be OC major hence the water!
I might just strip down an Armor... those doors just seem a bit, well... pointless?!?!? ...apart from what srry said about things hitting it, which never happens to me anyway.
The only this annoying is the depth. - I don't really want it to stick out that much, and my current mid-tower does by about 1 inch.... :
A want / need to stick a 250mm XSPC Resovoir into the case which is why I need extra height and possible depth so that the space between the MB and optical drives / HDs is bigger. Pump isn't an issue with space, and the radiator... well, I need to think a bit about that. Might end up having to mount it externally.
What are people's views of mounting radiators?!?!?!
Oh noes..... that case!!! My eyes!! Who would honestly buy that?!?!?
I think I might just go with a Thermaltake Armor Full Tower... and then maybe remove the 'doors' on the front. I'm also not sure about side windows, I do have some lights and what with watercooling it would look pretty good, but I don't want to be watching a DVD in a dark room but with my PC illuminating everything!!!!
Lian Li's 'cheap' cases are over ?150!! They look great but WHOA! - it's just a case!!!
Antec's are sweet but they don't have that great a range. Silverstone has some great ones like I said, but they're just nothing special, they're just better build than cheaper alternatives imo.
These are just examples of what I'm saying - I want something simple without bits petruding out all over the place. Btw, the bottom one has a front-opening door with conceals the drives.
All the gaming cases I've seen look like s**t, they look like toys. I want something serious which doesn't look like a 4-year olds star wars case!
I've been after a new pc case for a while now to accomodate my next system with a complete watercooling setup. Atm, I have a mid-tower that is ageing which came with my first pc (about 4 years ago)
Obviously there's no shortage of decent manufactures around, but I'm having trouble avoiding tackiness! I don't want lumps of plastic sticking out my pc, I want a completely flush, plain, but extreme looking case. Lian Li have some which fall into that catagory, but I refuse to pay ?150+ for a bloody case! I wana spend max ?90-110.
So if any of you have a case that you could recommend for its room and style, please help me out. I was looking at Silverstones TJ series but they are pricey and have had some bad reviews. Although thermaltakes armor and kandalf series are affordable, they borderline of tacky!! I need a full-tower to accomodate water-cooling.... and black!
Best way I find is to find some pictures of an area you want to map... maybe just google search interiors of buildings of pools or whatever, then attempt to map that. Its so much easier if you have something to follow rather than making it up yourself... ok, so it may seem like cheating but the results are great!
Otherwise just get ideas from other maps... or are there any parts in HL2 that you like but think you could do better.
A leeked benchmark reveals that this card kicks some serious ass! What's more, the dual-core version of this card, currently named the X2900XTX2 - awlful name - will probably retail at around $600... a bargain!!!!
Full benchmarks against 8800GTX and X1950 Crossfire... and some others:
Yeah, but then I feel like that about the CS maps that have been overloading the vault over the past year - utter crap. If you check the first pages of the vault... in the beginning, 80% of them were SP HL, you know, good 'ole well mapped, well thought out, well designed single-player maps.
Ok, so they weren't released that frequently, but now there's a new CS map added virtually EVERY day, and then there's always the members who join after a while at another mapping website and post 20 of their shit CS maps at once. What with most people playing CS:S now, these maps are wasted. People may dl them to try, but in the end only a select few are EVER good enough for everyone to play.
Bring back HL SP Maps - That's what this community needs... I think?
How much money don't you have? But seriously, tech isn't that expensive nowadays in comparison to...... well, then. You could easily build a sub-?300 that could handle HL2, which doesn't strike me as a lot.
@ srry: the water tank is so i don't get thirsty will on my computer ...stating the obvious! Nah, just cold water is great when gaming etc for me, and it's really cold
Ha, they make me laugh! Although I can see where there getting from. Imagine if the price of...................................... what's England famous for?!?!?!?!
