Willem Dafoe.
I think that what'll happen is a bullsquid comes up to you, suddenly unzips like a jacket, and out comes a woman who says; "Gordon, I've been following you for the past few years. I work for the FBI."
That would be utterly creepy and fulfill the scare factor of HL2.

Newell claims it will be in the hands of Vivendi in Early August, so it will probably be out in late August, just in time for School to start. Oh boy.

On a side note, did anyone read PCGamer's review of Doom3 this month? That comes out Aug. 4th to the public, so that should tide me over until HL2 comes my way. Yes, August is shaping up to be the month of Gaming Goodness. Mmm....gaming goodness.

Right, but it takes more work to make the lip value perfect to make the lift look proper on a lift door than just making a func_train and setting up path corners and doing it that way.

...nevermind. They don't allow hotlinking, just remembered that.

You can go to http://dhost.info/RabidMonkey777/img and look near the top if youre so inclined to, or search the Hammer manual for 'Reshaping Solids' and look under 'Clip Planes'.

I was working on a map and needed to clip my brush. I accidentaly toggled these little dimension numbers when I tried to clip on, a pic is at the link.

http://dhost.info/RabidMonkey777/clipnumbers.jpg

It's a helpful tool, but the usage of it was buried in the Hammer manual, and doesn't look commonly used. It's toggled on/off by pressing o when you have a brush selected in Clip mode. It makes precise clipping a whole lot easier, so for all of you who never knew about it, give it a try.

Hopefully, you'll find this useful.

Happy mapping.

So if SC doesn't start, it seems like a Steam error and not a compile error. Can you play Half-Life, Cstrike, DoD, TFC, etc, or is it just a SC error? If it's an SC error, reinstall.

When it's released, the tools will be released. I believe it uses Hammer for editing, probably a new version, and will have its own little FGD, textures, etc.

SvenCoop does not come in a GCF file for Steam, if that's what your missing. It goes in YourEmailhalf-lifesvencoop or something of that sort.

You can probably get teh FGD from the SC site, and the CFG probably comes installed with it, if not, reinstall.

That's in Red Faction too. Just different colors and more smiley. Just a developer test image.

The BS2 files are similar to BSP, only a few different lump sizes than BSP.

You can open all the models in ModelViewer, too, just rename the dol to mdl. The textures are all screwy, but you could reskin them, or write a program to view them and then they would look OK.

Useless fact: .dol is named after Matthew VanDolen, a Gearbox coder.

You work alongside Barney, that I know.
I read an interview that either Sierra or Valve is gonna finish up the newer games like HL2 and then get shut down. The parent company is losing money or something like that.
Sierra is closing, thanks to Vivendi. Apparently it doesnt produce enough money for the company, but VALVe will still remain open to my knowledge. It was probably one of my fav game companies....made some killer games in teh 80s, and of course, distributed Half-Life and the expansions, along with other decent games.

Yes, they're porting over HL to Source. That will be a very tasty port.

OpFor and Bshift may be converted, but will we ever figure out what happens next with the two sub-characters? Will we ever know what happens to Shepard and Calhoun? Stay tuned :P !

Replaying OpFor and Shift in Source will be good and all, but I want to know why Shepard got taken away and what he's up to, not just hear about Gordon's happy little adventure. What happened to Calhoun after he drove off with some scientists one afternoon at Black Mesa? What were those anomalous materials people dabbling in, anyways? Have you gotten the beverage machine to work yet? Can we do this later? Who is teh g33 man? Are you running those tunneling lattice calculations again? What is that stench? And why do we all have to wear these ridiculous ties? These , my friends, are the REAL questions I want answered in Half-Life 2!

There is a BS2. It's the HLPS2 Map format ;) .

The names will probably be different than just adding a '2' at the end. I don't think there will be a 'Blue-Shift2', but I'm hoping for 'OpFor'....whatever did happen to Shepard after he got taken away by teh g33 man? I know Barney shows up in City 17, there's just as good a chance that Shepard does as well.

g33 man detained Shepard and 'employed' Freeman, but Barney is 'Out of Reach' and knows a bit too much about Black Mesa, so he's obviously not in g33 man's plans. Hmm.....all this mystery shall be revealed when HL2 arrives.
