It depends....do you have a number of soldiers in your map that will be hidden until they're triggered, or are all the models all necessary?

Video card issue maybe? I assume you run in OpenGL and not D3D. Try reinstalling.

The Intro Platform was odd. No floor or ceiling. Just darkness. If VALVe threw in a few pipes, vents, etc... up there, it would've been more convincing.

They're excellent for Digital Video editing but are falling short on the game development community. That's why I switched over not too long ago. I think it's easier to manage this way, and the pages can be expanded upon if there is lots of information, screens, etc, which would not fit in a popup window or text.

If you're speaking about the Glossary, it's easier to have them on their own pages due to compatability issues, I suppose. Ie, one browser not supporting the popup window script.

I had a bb gun, but ever snce I seen a guy get his head blown off on my front doorstep I thought it might not be a good Idea to have anything that resembles a firearm.

Oh no, not the map maker for Time Splitters, that thing is so incredibly BAD
It's not horrible, but it has its limitations and you can't make big maps for it. I've cobbled together a few small 2 and 4 player deathmatch maps with it that were actually quite fun, but it limits how much you can place, making it impossible for...well..pretty much anything but DM.

Not bad. I like your choice of Blazeer's textures.

I'm with BL, it needs some more hiding areas....crates, debris, vehicles, furniture...etc. But the lighting is spot on.

In pics 5 and 7, there could be a little more detail on the walls and building, or maybe a different texture.

My house is too small to base a decent map around. Maybe I'll make a hostage model of myself and map one for small (4player or so) games of CS. Or make it rats scale (eww).

It might be a real challenge to map my house identically, though, the more that I think of it. Maybe I'll try it if I get some time. No school though. Too many "my school" maps.

I've never noticed the see thru bit on Slick. And Luther doesn't have a hangover, he just hasn't gotten the beverage machine to work yet ;) . Going long periods without caffiene is bad for those scientists. (For that matter, me too)

Nice link. I'll hafta break out my 12StepCrowbar Gamespy account and d/l them all. The 'Madness' Barnabus replacement is cool. Along with the Barney with the functioning Riot Shield...and well, lots of the models there. Go check it out if you haven't already, they have some nice variations that HIT does not. And, it saves me from re-skinning everything :P .

How do you stop a spawn area from buying?
You make the buyzones out of the map area so that the game thinks people can buy, but they aren't accessable.

As for spawn deaths, make sure the spawn point isn't accidentaly one unit stuck into a wall or something, and make sure they aren't being dropped from high heights or accidentaly being in a trigger_hurt.

It's sooo big...~600mb....I really need something faster than 56k. Time to become really good friends with people who have cable ;) . Does it have any really unique features that set it aside from other editors? I saw a tut on how to make characters with it on ERC and it was as simple as pressing a few buttons and, voila! A person!

As for running in MP, I did a bit more research on the commands and it looks like you'll have to use the +host command, but the sites I checked were very vague on it's usage...maype input your IP in the host command?

It's in MP but created locally/over your LAN instead of online. I think CP is right, you'll have to use those commands to enable online MP. It's not that much of a hassle to go in and create a game manually, so if it doesn't work, don't spend too much time on it.

Well, you could always buy milkshape for 15 or so dollars, its a lot less expensive than all of the other tools.

If not milkshape, I'd go with Cinema4d.

If they don't do it, I will :P . It's as easy as opening HL.wad and copying over the NW textures, making sure the names are the same as the default ones. Should work.

It ain't a sprite. shell.mdl is the shell model that comes from the guns.

biggun2, biggun, rifle and rifle2 are some wav names (I think) that are gun sounds. If your HL isn't installed properly, find the CDs or Steam and reinstall...bad installations can affect game stability and operativity (that even a word?)

Well, you can select all entities of the same type, so if all the crates are func_pushables, walls, illusionaries, etc... you can get them all. . Go to Map-Entity Report and you can select all of them there.

I care that a mod leader/creator, and even the mod team can spell and write because typographical/grammar errors on a mod page tell the viewers/downloaders, "God, these guys can't even spell, and if they aren't even skilled to spell, they must SUCK at mapping...", your mod's popularity decreases, noone plays, all the work for nothing.

I may be able to cook up a small DM map for 1v1 or 4 players.

You have to register with FP to download anything from there. It's free. You can opt to have no download lines and pay, though.

Wally can make textures and PAKs to store models, sound, maps, and other game files in, in a variety of formats. It doesn't perform incredibly great for making textures by hand, just for editing sizes/palettes/small things. Look into Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro for image editing.
