Well, i gave you the sollution for your problem in that thread.
  • No brush based brushes with the AAATrigger texture. This has nasty side effects. Only apply this texture on trigger like trigger_once, trigger_multiple, Trigger_hurt etc.
  • If you want a sky, use the SKY texture (blue-ish color, 16x16) and apply that on the outer cube with the stair sign texture on it.
If you fix these first, im sure it'll compile fine with ZHLT.

i don't know what string number is which line and i can't find a guide.
You don't need to. Just change the line and it'll automatically be visible on the main manu. I think those string numbers are just a references for the HL game code.

My part is still not finished cuz im having trouble with the look of Gordons appartment. Dunno whats wrong with it, i just don't like it, and i don't feel starting all over again. That why i kinda quit working on it...

BSP2MAP is for HL1 maps. It doesn't work with Source Engine maps.

To decompile Source bsp maps, you need VMEX.

No. You have to extract all the sprites from the pak0.pak into your valve/sprites folder.

DUDE!

Why the hell did you made a huge box arround your map, and scaled it way to high (100.00 on X and Y)? Also, you're using a huge brush with the AAATRIGGER texture, also scaled 100.00 on X and Y. Get rid of those, or apply the SKY texture on those brushes so it can function as a sky.

HLRAD Crashes because of:

1. Huge box around arround your map with the Staircase texture, which also gives off light, because its an texturelight.
2. Huge brush with AAATRIGGER texture. Bad bad bad.
3. Scales waaaaay to high!

Fix those.

I don't know where you've downloaded the Tools, but inside the zipfile, there should be two dll files. Place those files in the same directory as the tools intself, Hammer/Tools.

The Tools may not work properly if those dll's are missing.

Not true, 7th, you CAN have monster in Multiplayer (just HLDM) with fully functional AI. However, this is disabled by default. If you want to have monsters in HLDM, you'll need to enter this command in the console:

mp_allowmonsters 1

This will enable monsters in HLDM maps. You'll need to restart your map for this to take affect.

Switch back to the ZHLT tools. The QTools are horribly outdated and buggy. Recompile your map with the ZHLT Tools and check your logfile (mapname.log, in the same directory as your mapname.rmf) Open it up and check for problems such as leaks, invalid brushes or anything else. If you've found something strange in the log, post it here, and we will help you solving the problem. But never use the QTools again.

For those who are to lazy to read the readme file, here's a tip:

Make a shortcut on your desktop to the game, open the shortcut properties, and add this at the and of the target field:

-res x y

where x y is your resolution. That way the game looks sharper.

Also, hold down the X key to build up a powerfull charge. Release the X key to fire it.

But Deathmatch Classic uses different entities. If you put any of those in your map, and you try to run it in regular DM, those entities may not appear ingame.

Making a HLDM map uses the same fgd file as a normal HL sinlgeplayer map. So if you are using that one, you are ok.
