Is there a way to make the animation of one model freeze on a certain frame, or just the first frame? I want Barney to sit still on his sit1 anim in my tram map, it doesnt matter that he isnt breathing, the player is far enough away.

It's used if you have a map that has files for AI pathfinding, with info nodes. The .nod and .nrp files go in there.

Yes, but you can place it on a func_train covered in AAATrigger and make the model move, like in the OpFor intro scene with the mini apaches and ospreys. Theyre moved by invisible trains. Itd take some clever hitbox work to make it actually usable and to walk around on it.

It's in the game GCF/PAK for WON. Just put the texture named sky where you want the sky. In map-properties just set the name to one of the names above. Ignore teh cl_

Read some modeling and animation tuts and practice. You can't make it look perfect on your first few tries. Work on doing the body first, then practice animating the wheels.

Oh craptacular, my Notepad got infected with a virus a while back and I deleted it:

"notepad is not a valid Win32 application".

Can anyone send me their notepad.exe file? Or tell me how to fix it without reinstalling? Im too lazy to go look for my XP cd.

Hidden room in the OpFor boot camp. It has the developer's initials (DMM) and 1999 in it. The elevator in "Forget About Freeman" was apparently part of the map that didn't make it. The button changelevels into the Lambda Core level into the vehicle bay with the tank. (You die, though). If anyone can't find the hidden room, ill post a pic in a while.

You can also check out your buddies and check out the Osprey that you fly into BM on in Boot Camp, apparently when the sergeant says "now go on your mission" or whatever, you would have to run to the osprey. Removed from the final release.

And I got lost in the biodome, it was too confusing.

And the Bshift outro was cool, the car was neato, and I like the sci hacking away at the fence with the crowbar. The "ba_maint" level was also cool, with the sci messing with the console and getting shocked, and barney leaping up from his chair.

You can't have !WATERBLUE with a normal texture, either, like you can't have a brush with the GENERIC015k texture and have three sides
!WATERBLUE. Even if it isn't a func_water. It can't find netvis, too.

Map-Map Properties and type a skyname. Here's a list, assuming you map for cstrike. If not, there are diff names for Half-Life and TFC.

As for guns like fy_ maps (eww) just place an armory_entity in your map and set the type of gun through the property dialog. I have no idea about team selection, I think it's automatic if you play with more people.

Hmm...this has happened a lot lately, when I'm working on a map, and I want to shear something, it won't work. I have my selection tool on, but when I click on the object, it just keeps the six handles, and doesnt change to the rotation or shear ones. If I click near the edges, it moves the object. I can resize it, but can't do other things. Any ideas?

As for me, I liked Surface Tension for HL, Foxtrot Uniform for OpFor and Captive Freight for Bshift (teh only big chapter for bshift) Runners up are Friendly Fire (Op4), Insecurity (Nice chapter name, BS), Office Complex (HL) and Boot Camp (Op4).

Anyone else find the secret room in Op4's Boot camp, by the way? There is one.

no, not really.
Yes, yes really. Read other posts, It has to do with the game recognising a certain bit (dunno how it works) of teh palette that makes it transparent. The blue is just to designate where it should be transparent on teh texture.

Okay, I switched over to Steam today from my WON installations of OpFor, CS, HL, Ricochet and TFC. I converted everything into the steam caches, and they all went to around 90% on update status. After dinner they went from the 95/90 percents they were at earlier to 0%. Is this just switching to show new update status, or did it erase my data from the earlier version and do I have to re-dl the entire game even though I have an earlier version? Also, when it says "Needs Update" is it downloading the update, or what? If not, what do I have to click to update the games.

Yup, I got it off funnypics.com or whatever. It's cropped and stuff to be my av. I just like the pic, its funny.

And I got my radioactivecableguy one when I registered on GameSpy not too long ago, so the idea just wasn't there at the time, and I try to keep my s/n's consistent across different things so there's not too many to remember.

player_equip gives things like the "tactical suit" in the training level, I think. That, and kevlar, helmets, and other "equipment" items (non-weaponry)

3dgames or whatever gamedesign.net is hosted on has looooong queues, I remember when their prefab site was up, on larger ones I had to wait 45 mins during the day to DL, and 15 at night.
