Have you tried Worldcraft 3.x ? it's a much lesser version, but might not require the data that was destroyed by the virus.

Kasperg to the rescue!

I didn't mention that playability will top the graphic for this, so you'll get the best of both sides.

No new guns yet, sorry.
Well... nothing majorly new. The sounds and sprites are set, but i'm running around with messed out defaults as of now.

I'm Loving CoolEdit96 right now. I have made several sound filters for this mod specifically. SO the sound quality is high and the ambient sound are well coordinated. DCC has test played it and is extremely dissapointed that the test was only 1 room and 1 hallway. He said that the sounds draw you in perfectly and the ambience makes you want to explore the whole world. This is the goal.

So far, all is well. Demo Soon.

Will be back again with updates.

i have a similar problem. I use spirit where i can give them the "barney" AI. But they don't attack enemies. Now i can make them friendly, but they don't follow me like barney would. A monster_generic doesn't seem to help either.

I've been looking around for you cuz i'm curious too. I'll let you know if i find anything. :glad: :heart:

I think i'll be joining again too with the base compo.

Yes, yes. I know i've worked on that map a whole month before the compo and IT DOES run like crap. It's not meant for a buttload of people and in fact might be better for CS anyhow. I've heard it all already so shove it.

I liked the compo because it was a good cause. I'm glad the TWHL is booming with awsome new maps now.

I think muzzleflash wins this one. He owns the server. :biggrin:

I am running OpenGL btw. But no fog for me, only when underwater. If it takes out the sky then i guess i don't want it.

oh ok, i was a bit worried for a second there. To choose the next compo was pretty much the only reason why i entered. i think i stated that once before.

I'm not going to enter anymore compos, i have too much to map for my mod, but i'll pull it off anyway.

heh, looks familiar. I think i've already seen it.

The stretcher looks good the way it is. If it was 100% accurate, it would be a solid army-green without the stripes. But that looks alright in my book.

Those philosophies aren't backed up by a 2000 year old book though. Well neither is the one i mentioned, but it does say in the new testiment about non-heaven advanced existence. Like super brainy foreign species from other dimension.

Looks awsome, is there gonna be a demo out soon?

I like the fire, and the fog. How are you getting fog to work because i'm troubled with it. Then again i'm using Spirit 1.5a3.

Also, it seens like almost every screen seems dark, and it's been said. I hope this gets fixed, otherwise add in some night vision.

The Hard Drive is still good and all of that. I need to get a few new things and i'm back up and running. With more ram and processing power too hopefully.

EDIT: I did have a comment about the Tron 2.0 glow for HL, but i realized my comp can't run it. Though it verc says its "low end"... my ass it is. requires atleast a radeon 9600.

i don't know about the randomness of it, but you can play it everywhere. This is how I see it.

Use a multi manager to target your sound in order. But type in a random number anywhere between 60 and 120 (1 or 2 min) at the end, have it target another multisource similar to this one, then at the end of that one, have it target the first one. (old MW trick) that's as random as i can get it for sounds at least.

The complicated way is to use sentence sets. Also, you can use this to play music (throught the HEV Voice system, kinda like an HEV audio player :D) alot better than the double ambient_generic way. look up sentences if your interested in that.

Not true, steam has placeholders that you dl so it shows up on the game list, but nothing like 4 GB of crap. I've seen this happen too but it was light, like 6 mb total. Otherwise how steam can dl 4 GB of crap onto my comp in miraculously short amounts of time deserves a Nobel Peace Prize.

yeah, i'm taking a twist from the usual.
Expect good maps too, i'm pulling out all stops to get the max out of this. Probly because it's going onto my college portfolio. Everything i learn in class is immediately applied :D

For those who played the climbing test, i'm wondering if you guys noticed that the doors blocked vis. Thusly, the singled-off rooms can host a little more detail. So every room will have the detail of an entire map. I think i already explained this once.

But on a bad note, my SoHL 1.4 has been crashing like nuts lately. I found out it's really unstable. Luckily Spirit 1.5a3 is here!

Anyone who will do any mapping or the like should get it.

Thanks for all of the offers for skinning. I know i would look at those models as being a nightmare to work with. Well... it did take me 3 weeks to design and model 8 weapons. I'm on a roll!!! w00t.

The screens look promising. awsomely new skins and such adds alot to the originality of the idea. The environments look fun, and i hope they are. The foggy lights could be done a lot better. I can see if i can make a foggy light sprite for you like the foggy light in HL2. Gimme a minute.

a nice fix would be to add a little scenery to the outside area. Build the other wall's outer side, or even add another window for an enemy to snipe you from. or whatever.

ok, but i can't compile them. Pepper is actually doing that for me. A little teamwork will go a long way ya'know. Go ahead and design everything on paper so i have some references. Also, tell me everything about the gun, like why its this way, or how it functions. that also helps with detailing.

i think that's what it is. in your main mod folder, make a textfile and type these cvars into the file. Save it as "userconfig.cfg" and these settings will be set automatically everytime the mod runs. any other settings changed for the mod should be here as well, such as tweaked gravity or running speeds.
