Yeah, i believe it would rise a challenge out of the l33t players around here. That's the point, mwaha...
Reflective water? .... nope
Control of shadow resolution? .... nope
Viewable distance of 5000? ..... nope
Bumpmapped stone textures? ..... nope
Control of shadow resolution? ... YES! I've found that you CAN change this in the bath compiler. Can't remember which parameter it is at the moment. Only problem is that it takes 8 years to compile and the limit for light patches is easily exceeded with larger maps.

Viewable distance of 5000? ... this is the dumbest thing ever. some of my maps have viewing distances of over 6000.

Bumpmapped stone textures? ... if your that worried about stuff like this, you can put together a lighting wad and apply it's textures additively where ever. I tried this and have actually got some alright results, i just haven't made anything serious with them.

since i can't source map for anything besides HL2 itself, i'm gonna just make a line of the strangest maps you'll ever play.

I'm liking the entity system, so i'm thinking of throwing out some eye-candy maps with a crap load of puzzles in them. Kinda like what i tried for hl1 with my "l33t tests" idea and the mini test chamber. With source, it would be so much more versitile. mwaha...

that's a good point. they bomb us for not believing in THEIR god. we have the same god, and people are too ignorant to try and understand.

world peace is as simple as calming the f!ck down and accepting the way things are. yet no one does it.

yeah, sorry for the rant. But it's so evident that stuff is true. no one wants to believe it, and no one i'm sure, ever will. It's all a part of being ignorant. No one has ever made the connections from thing to thing in the bible, or what's left of it. Also, keep in mind that the church is more of a business than a place of redemption. Originally set up to sell religion and baptisms. Religion has been skewed over thousands of years. The real truth is that there really is no such thing as religion, only a few common understandings can null every religion that has developed over the generations. Understanding such things eases the tension of life, love, and time.

i have other hobbies besides mapping btw.

It'd be awsome to zap people and have gravity-gun based abilities.

If i would make this mod, i would give the player like 5 different skills. Each skill would then level up as you use them. it could work.

:|

keep in mind that there is a lot of man-made crap in our o-so perfect little world.
More than likely, God has to think of something to do about all of these wierd and new examples.

As far as sin goes, there supposed to be 10, but if you break it down, there are two books of sins in the bible. First and Second Corinthians i think. It'd be easier to make a list of things that are not a sin. :| :|

it's dangerous to let a person who has such knowledge to live again. The whole Deja-Vu thing happens to us all much too often. The Info will return in time. It's a threat to a king's throne, you're already dead, so your cast away and never to be returned instead. The concept is simple and relatable really.

and yes, live life to the fullest everyday. That is the meaning of life as far as i know.

If someone has a fear of being crushed by God, why hasn't he crushed anyone?
It's called a hard-drive crash.

Personally, I believe:

1) God is Female. Possibly hot, but likely nerdy, as supported by a few loose facts in the bible.

2) God was once a living person, but is now dead and is nothing more than an influence. A ghost in other words.

3) She's had a few relationship issues in the past... yeah...

4) Satan (or Sentinal) was once God's loving boyfriend. She granted him about the same power she had and he abused it (like Seventh.) He got pissed and dumped her because he wasn't more powerful. God couldn't strip him of his power because she was foolish to make him almost equal to her own abilities. He holds a grudge against God, and is gay, but God still has feelings for him. Thus, love thy enemy, a perfect example.

5) God is nerdy, but hopefully a hot nerd, and has an interest in the existential sciences and arts. She became to understand the rules of the unvierse. "Ye shall be as gods." The famous line from the old testiment when the serpent tempted Eve with the fruit of the Forbiddon Fruit Tree. This book is not about the birth of Earth, but the brith of God. The Forbiddon Fruit is godhood. She was Eve in this instance, and she ate the fruit and shared it. She was sent out of the "Garden of Eden" which was probably her home planet, and the God portrayed in Genesis is really the god of her religion. To be forsaken from Eden was to be kicked out of the juristiction of her god's influencial realm. She began a new civilization (Earth), and is often referred to as "The Mother" by most Islamic, Muslim and Babylonian based Religions and holy books.

6) I've done my research.

7) Anyone can become a god.

I have found nothing on the internet about how to make translucent/transparent materials. Like the ones seen for overlays and flat tree-lines in single player of HL2. So how do you make these, I know it's not as easy as making transparent textures for HL1. If anyone has a link to a great tutorial, utility, tool, or have some advice, please let me know.

Personally, when I map DM, i think of the following

1: Is there enough ammo and weapons to go around. (never too much, really)

2: Are the spawn positions easy to camp, or tripmine, or whatever?

3: Is there enough room to run around and shoot as well as some cover?

4: Can the better items like Long-Jump and Egon be accessable by n00bs?

that's what i go by and i do just fine.

Awards are self inspirational.
I mapped, and mapped, and mapped, and then mapped again.
The only thing that kept me going to just to make people say ooh and aah.
Now, I have been decorated for outstanding work.
It may be a bunch of pixels, but it does mean something when you work really hard to achieve it. It took me way over a year to get as skilled as I have, and I am Proud to have such a symbol of greatness abroad my account.

Awards should be earned. If you want to give stripes or stars, or some other smaller awards like the real military does it, be my guest. But the real award should be in satisfaction and the joy of mapping.

I sounded like a hippy :(

i see no difference between -wadinclude <wadname> and
-nowadtextures. Except that I know adtextures includes ALL textures used. if your using an entire set of custom textures, this is ok, but if your using a few custom texture and more defaults,
type -wadinclude wadname. of course, wadname would be the actual name of your wad. i.e.

-wadinclude edenica.wad

Yes, indeed. The new HL1 r_speeds limit is currently set at 1500 because of me and the help of people with good computers. As far as proportions, we all have had that problem. Check out this rather interesting tutorial that will help you get a good guess how to proportion junk to the player.

plop down a multimanager and click it's properties.

...looks like nuthin...
...Give it a name first...

click [Smart Edit] so that it is disabled.

...still looks like nuthin...

There should be two fields on the right where you can type stuff.
I believe there's a string field and a value field, then there's some add and delete buttons. Click the add button and another String and Value dialog will show up.

In the string field type your target, and the in the value field, type a number in seconds to delay the action of targetting.

i.e. something like this

targetname multi1 (name of entity)
redlight1 0 (fires immediately)
greenlight1 1 (after a 1 second delay, this fires)
button1 1 (this also fires after 1 second)
shake1 2 (then this after 2 seconds)

i dunno if this will work, but it's worth a shot. :
