I believe Gabe himself said that they probably wouldn't end the franchise after the next game. That they might make new games revolving around other characters such as Alyx or Barney. Half-life 3 might end the story, but it most likely won't end the franchise.

Thanks :), I've always loved to play with them. You can do all sorts of things, really sparkles my imagination. I hope they work the same in CSS, I've never tried to be honest.

Well, if you want to disable all or just one killstreak after one has dropped you could simply disable it's timer which controlls the random drops until you want it to be availble again. This can be done easily with anything from a simple logic_relay to another secondary timer, which are activated once one killstreak (or one logic_timer that is controlling a killstreak) has been fired. :)

Using a secondary timer would be to make it overly complicated though, I'd choose a logic_relay. You'd simply activate the relay along with the killstreak, the relay would have two outputs, one that disables the timer directly, and one that enables it again once a given time has passed.

Can't say it was as good as I wanted it to be. I wouldn't say that it was bad, it just didn't live up to the hype. The other two were better, but it was still really awesome mostly thanks to Bane. He stole the whole show.

As far as I know you can spawn any entity at any time. But how do you mean "random"? Random as in random time, or random as in random position?
Random time can be done easily using a logic_timer set to an intervall in which it selects a random time to fire.

Random position would require you to use a logic_case(?) to select one of the several templates set up all over the map where you want the pallet to be able to drop. Also spawning a path_node above that specific template might allow you to make the aircraft fly to that "random" location

Couldn't you make it come out of a cloud? You can't make good looking clouds using smoke, but you could add a brushcloud which isn't solid, and add smoke infront of it to make it look better when the plane flies through

EDIT:

Or you could make the pallet a template, and spawn in on the plane once it has gotten into the skybox, or if you like just spawn it above the dropzone when the plane flies over

EDIT2:

Or make the whole goddamn plane and the pallet a template, and spawn it whenever you want

You could do this using the point_template entity. At least I think that's what it is called. Very useful entity

What game is that Archie?

Now playing Ballad of Gay Tony and DayZ. The latter mostly, I had a guy for three days and got shot in the face by another survivor last night. We were three men investigating a roadblock when we got attacked in the rear by four men with a truck all equipped with M4s. Needless to say we didn't stand a chance, but my friend managed to kill two of them before he hit the ground.

Intense game, I'm loving it.

Norway. No firearms are allowed in Sweden unless you are a hunter or a serviceman. Those who want to get over some firearms doesn't seem to have any trouble doing so anyway.

I'm all with Archie when it comes to America treating guns like toys, but as much as I'd which the US to change I can't imagine that it would actually decrease the amount of shootings by a significant amount. Those who seek will still find, just as they do when they seek illegal drugs or prostitution.

That's bs, you can't even get an npc to walk in a straight line (unless it's under say 200 units) without nodes. Let alone make it navigate around obstacles and corners.

Have you placed out info_nodes every 20 or so units where you want the npc to walk? If there aren't any info_nodes between the path_corners then the npc will ignore them.

The entity which you will need to mess around with is this Aiscripted_schedule

Read up on that article and you'll know exactly what to do.
You'll still youse path_corners to decide the route, but the schedule will be what's controlling the NPC.

Good luck!

I also bought L.A. Noire. I haven't got a high end computer, so unfortunately I can't play it on any high settings. Not all my fault though, the game is obviously extremely poorly optimized as I can play GTA 4 and BF3 on high no problem, while I have to pull the slides down to low just to get by the rain and night settings in L.A. Noir.

The game is good fun though. It's generally slowpased which is fine by me since I've always enjoyed adventure games such as Monkey Island, but sometimes it's too slow and too repetitive.
Why do they all have to run, seriously? Also, if I just torn open your stash of morphine with your name on it right in front of you then there is really no point in lying about it. This happens a bit too often. Over all it's a great game though.

Never said it wasn't a trailer, but since you mention it a trailer is supposed to make you want to buy a game, or in this case download it. Watching that didn't do it for me.

I probably won't download TF2 ever again, it used to be my favourite online game, now it's just an unbalanced hat party. That's just me though, I guess it's more popular now than it ever was.

And to answer your question, I just expected it be as entertaining as the others are. It was shit to me, but I'm not disappointed since I don't really give a fuck about TF2 any more. Frankly I'd rather play Team Fortress Classic.

Personally I don't like the 1-5 scale and because of this I rarely rate. If you were to ask me, I'd say 1-10 was more appropriate.

The gaps between the stars are too big, just look at your own interpretation. The difference between 2 and 3 seems pretty big to me, it went from "not worth playing" to "solid and decent".

I believe that if we were to increase the width of the spectrum we would end up with more fair ratings, including for those who've just posted their first real map..

Sounds kind of meaningless if you ask me. If the ultimate purpose is for the universe to be proud of itself, then whom has it got to show it's pride for?
Don't get me wrong though, I don't believe in any meaning or purpose.

Also, you will find that the similarity between the braincell and the universe slowly will fade away as the universe expands and slowly cools, eventually enough to not support life.

@Bruce: If the universe only exists if we are around to observe it then it could never have come in to existence because we have only been around for but a insignificantly small fraction of time. The universe has been doing it's thing for a long time, didn't need us then, doesn't need us now.
That, if anything, proves that the universe is objective.

I've had friends visit the south of USA. The stories they told when they came back were frightening. I wouldn't say "dark ages", but they certainly seem to be about a hounded years late, and in some matters even longer. The only thing they are up to date about is weapons.

Dismissing evolution in school as superstition and embracing the bible as fact, condemning sex before marriage and practise open racism and homophobia.
I'm glad it isn't as bad in the north.

Obviously they haven't become stupid, I never said that. It is slowly getting better. You can tell by the increasing number of non-believers in the country.

Yes you do. None whom I've ever met suffer from any psychological disorder, nor any lighter forms of mental suffering due to them having sex during ages 15-20.If anything they've got better confidence.

Perhaps it affects kids mentally if they are taught that it is bad. Perhaps then they will feel shame or disgust causing them to feel depressive. That would never have happened if they didn't say it was bad in the first place, which it isn't. Telling kids that sex is bad is wicked! Sex has nothing but positive effects if you keep it safe, and more importantly voluntary.

USA is fucked (no pun intended) because of their shitty sexual education.
We have very little problems here in Sweden due to our quite thorough sexual education. I've yet to meet someone under 20 who is pregnant.

USA's sexual education has been poisoned by christian standards. If you just tell kids to stay away from sex, which they won't obey anyway since it is a natural urge (which has been integrated into us for a reason I might add. Without it where would we be today? Most likely extinct.), and they actually go and have sex, then they will have no idea what they are doing and you've got yourself an epidemic of STDs.

Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell, they were all great back in the days. Somewhat realistic, and loads of tactics. Now they are all just console based action games adapted for 13 year olds.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is still in my opinion the best stealth action game ever made. A good mix of realism and action without overdoing either of them. After Chaos Theory Sam Fisher went from James Bond to fucking superman with a gun. It's just silly.

My most played game is Plants vs Zombies 86 h which isn't really true since I recall leaving it on several times just to collect money, so the real winner is MW2 in which I've spent 79 h

Of course, most of these numbers can't be the true numbers since they didn't start counting the hours until, what 2007?
So I'm guessing my total Half-life and Half-life 2 playtime would together add up about 400 Hours
