I'm open to suggestions since I'm definitely crap at design, but I think the size of the h1 headings is fine in this case. I don't really want them any smaller.

They're sorted by date rather than ID number, so I'm guessing there's some oddities with the really old data that causes that to happen.

@Shrinker: Thanks for the feedback, but TWHL3 previously locked old threads after 3 months as well. At the moment you can contact an admin (just ask in the shoutbox) and somebody will unlock and old thread. I think you do raise a good point about extending the dead-thread time limit though. I'll extend it when I get the time, and monitor how it goes.

@Orange: You can hover over the "x minutes ago" text to get the exact time, though admittedly that doesn't work on mobile.

@Qwertyus: I didn't test on Opera since it's using the same rendering engine as Chrome... unless you're using the old version of Opera? I don't plan to support old browsers.

@potatis: I wonder where that list could go. Maybe in "members"? I don't really want to fit it on every page...
Penguinboy PenguinboyHaha, I died again!
That's really neat! A few suggestions:
  • Don't pop up for my own shouts
  • Use the user's avatar in the notification instead of the generic lambda icon

@Jessie: Try again now, thanks for the bug report. I had to set up file permissions on the server.

@Shepard: Yes, there's a CSRF token which will reset if your session times out. It sometimes causes that issue, if it starts happening a lot I might just disable it for some of the pages (e.g. forums, comments, shoutbox, etc don't really need to be protected)

@Jessie/Orange: I just made another fix that should hopefully stop the nefarious pixel, try reloading again.

I love the Rhythm Heaven games, don't forget about the Wii game which plays quite well on the Dolphin emulator. I also really enjoy the Ouendan/Elite Beat Agents series on the DS, but they are full song games akin to guitar hero rather than rhythm based minigames.

He wasn't happy with how bloated Opera had become
What do you mean your browser doesn't have half-implemented clients for email, IRC, RSS, Bittorrent, web hosting, and a web proxy?

@TJB: That deleting thing is because NTFS technically supports file paths longer than 256 characters but Microsoft doesn't implement support for it in most built-in apps for backwards compatibility reasons.

WinRar happily supports long paths and will create them when extracting archives but then explorer can't deal with them... which is a bit of a problem.

That's a problem with all Windows versions but they've added the ability in Windows 10 to support long paths, but you run the risk of breaking older software (but I doubt it).

In the registry set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\LongPathsEnabled to 1. But the WinRar deletion work-around is handy and I've used it before.

You need to be signed into a Google account (doesn't need Google+, any gmail account will do) and you can turn off the history from the account settings. It won't stop tracking you, but it will stop recommending you stuff based on what you've watched. You can "delete" watch/search history as well, but of course that doesn't mean much considering tracking you is how Google makes money.

I don't have any issue with your endeavour - I've seen way too many resource sites disappear and their content lost forever and that sucks. But I see a bit of a flaw in your argument:
I can't guarantee TWHL's continued existence, or Interlopers, or the SC forums. I can guarantee our own site.
By the same logic, I can't guarantee the continued existence of your site, but I can for TWHL. What makes your word more reliable than mine?

Microsoft just finished. Some new stuff, all looked fairly boring to me though. They're really trying to sell the XBONEX (I'm calling it Xboner), trying to pretend that it's not the exact same thing that Sony already did with the PS4 pro. Revolutionary and all that.

Might as well keep doing this!

E3 is happening! etc

E3! Let's discuss!

Copypasta below:

What is E3?
The Electronic Entertainment Expo, known as E3, is an event that happens every year in Los Angeles. It's usually where the big companies announce new stuff (i.e. Microsoft, Sony, and to a lesser extent, Nintendo) like games, hardware, consoles, and really pretty much everything to do with games. Ubisoft and EA also make appearances, but interestingly enough, Activision do not (though they usually manage to get a Call of Duty trailer in there anyway).

Why is it cool?
If you're interested in gaming at all, E3 is the biggest dump of new information that happens every year. The keynotes almost always feature brand new trailers, gameplay, hardware, services, and of course, new games! It's always fun to hear new stuff to look forward to. E3 is focused on western gaming (Microsoft, Ubisoft, EA), but Nintendo and Sony usually inject some Japanese gaming influence in there as well, so there's always something interesting no matter what your gaming tastes are!

I'll post updates after each keynote with all the interesting stuff, but if you want to watch the conferences live, just visit any big gaming website (GameSpot, IGN, GameTrailers, etc) and find their E3 coverage.

Is anyone else excited about E3? Any predictions you would like to share? I'll be posting my own predictions before each keynote starts. I'm too lazy to post predictions.

PS: Before anyone suggests it: Half-Life 3 will NOT be announced this year. In fact, it will NEVER be announced at any E3, ever! (Though I would not mind if I was wrong about this)

End E3 copypasta

EA has already done their thing, but it was pretty crap unless you care about Battle[front|field].
