in Creating Overview in CS:CZ Post #222943
I was trying to make an overview for my latest map, and I was following the tutorials but I'm having a little problem. In my console in CZ the dev_overview command is doing nothing. No value I put into it works. My other commands, like hud_draw 0 are working. This seems like one of those stupid little problems and someone could let me know what I'm doing wrong? I'm in OpenGL, the tut says dev_overview won't work in software mode. Help please!

Ok, I've used it before and I know I have it. Trouble is, none of the wads I've loaded for the map I'm working on have it, and I really need it to lower wpoly count.

I don't feel like digging through all of my wads one by one until I find one with a null texture. I know it's a long shot but does anyone know any wads from CS:CZ, CS, DoD that have it? Or a place where I can get a little wad that has Null in it?

I know I have it SOMEWHERE. Just would save me the trouble of loading wads one by one until I find it. It's a pain in the ass. :furious:

I love Turtle Rock's CS:CZ maps. They just look better than the 1.6 maps in pretty much every way. Everything in CZ looks better than 1.6, thats one reason I play it and map for it. And I'm bummed that CZ never got finished because I liked the single player too. :nervous:

The developer doesn't matter, the game does. From what I read, this definitly looks worth a try. It could be developed by fucking Lucas Arts and if it were good, I'd buy it.

Caboose: Ripped from both my friends Xbox's name on system link networks of Halo, and from Red vs Blue. Very popular, so I changed.

Blitzkrieg: Sweet song by a sweet band covered by a sweeter band. Also I think German is the coolest language ever, and the fear that word strikes into your enemies is sweet.

I've used about a hundred other names a couple times, mostly for Halo 2 and Starcraft lan with friends.

If I had to be in the army I would go to officer's school. If that doesn't count for some of you then I would pick marines simply because once you make it in that, you are one of the most badass people on this planet. Third pick, move to the UK and be trained as a sniper. Although my ADD might be a problem. I'd be fuckin picking the grass while the target walked across an open lot.

Ok my uncle, a firefighter captain told me about this. The woman was selling drugs, the cops went in. She thought she was being robbed and in the dark, opened fire on the officers. Three officers were hit before the woman was shot and killed.

Age is no factor. She was a criminal, who shot three officers of the law. Does the fact that she had a fucking GUN handy and was ready to spring into action in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT not concern anyone?

Forget cops, we need to deal with the new wave of 92 year old armed drug dealers.

And whoever said to 'shut up about Darfur' can go fuck himself in the ear. It might make him smarter. Genocide is happening and if you don't consider that a problem than you are not making this world a better place and should die.

How it actually works- not how they did it, I don't know- is when an officer removes someone they confirm that the person shouldn't be there, or that someone wants them to leave and then they ask. If the person won't leave, they ask if the person is refusing to leave. Again if its a yes then they take the person into custody.

Clearly this guy was resisting arrest, out of fear or stupidity I'm not sure. Point is a tazer is an acceptable way to subdue someone who refuses to cooperate.

in UCLA Student Tazered By Police Post #203690
Yeah but for disobeying an officer, and resisting arest, it is.

Rowley's right. It's not perfect, but it's a hell of a lot better than immobilizing someone with a gunshot to the leg.

Rowley I think you read it too fast lol. I said he WAS able to get up, and that he WASN'T tazered for not having the ID. Maybe I could have worded it better, I'll admit.

And it's not unstoppable pain, he could have stopped it at anytime by standing the fuck up instead of screaming at them.

I HIGHLY doubt that guy could not physically get up. I've seen demonstrations of tazers on tv, all police officers have to be tazered. You go limp while the volts go through you but you regain muscle control rather quickly.

Also, someone said he was tazered for not having his ID in a library, but really he was refusing to leave. When you refuse to go with police, they can use force. It's obvious that guy was not cooperating and in the end it looks like he finally did.

I know there is much police brutality in the world, but I don't think this is a prime example. They could have handled the situation more professionally but I don't think it classifies as brutallity.

Torture? Wake up, 'will I see my family tonight, or will some crazy drug addict shoot me today?'. That seems more like torture to me. That's just my two cents anyways.

In an EGM article it told about one of his stunts. This was about a year ago. Apperently when San Andreas came out, he made a rather generous statement. He said that if someone made a violent game in which the developers of games and their familys were the victims, he would donate one thousand dollars to the charity of that person or persons' choice.

So, a group of modders took GTA:SA on the PC and modded away. They came up with a game in which the player controls the hero, Jack Thompson, and murders several of the developers of the GTA series and their families. Needless to say, Thompson may not have been thinking. Again. When told that his request had been consummated, and the modders had chosen their charity, he basically responded with 'I never said that.'

End of story, true story. May not have been EGM I forget. It was a long time ago.

Again, here you go buddy. :thefinger: :thefinger:

I read a while back on IGN an interview with the portal team. Apparently a group of students came up with the idea for Portal and Valve took them and basically said "run with it". Cool thing is, Valve says that the Portal gun may find its way into Half-life single player in the future based on community reaction. They say they wished that they could have released a small game like Portal featuring the Gravity gun before they took that into the game. If Portal is big, you might see Gordon runnin around with one of those things! :D

I use a light_spot with Is Sky checked. Make an info_target named Skytarget or something and make the light_spot target it. Now all you need to do is move the target around to play with direction and angle of sunlight.

Exception to this rule: Scientology. Scientology is the dumbest thing since war and everyone needs to know it. :P

But, I deleted every entity :aghast: :aghast:
