That's a big part of the idea.

The second amendment is actually in place to protect the people as a whole. America was born out of a revolution, remember. When the bill of rights was written, the first two rights reflected it.

The first basically says that all Americans are free. We have a gov't of course, but we do not have rulers.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The second basically says that if the gov't tries to change that, we can just shoot them.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Note the wording.

It was not a P90, it was an AR-15 type rifle. Nearly every state in the US bans full auto. Civilian versions of ARs are not select-fire.

Go back to herpa-derpa-hate-america-land, driving down the goddamn road is more deadly and I do that for an hour a day.

The gun debate is completely pointless. I've said it before here and I'll say it again. Personal defense firearms are in the bill of rights. It's unchangeable.

It only demonstrates a lack of understanding to have the discussion in the first place.

The weapon was indeed an AR-15 type weapon, a semi-auto rifle which is very popular, probably because returning GI's are already so familiar with it they choose one for home defense.

And knock it off with the "herp-derp America" bigoted bullshit. Yes, 12 people got shot on that day. About 300,000,000 did not.

I'd google map search for "art supply".

You could also add the appearance of rust by using a trick I picked up painting Warhammer 40k models. Use ink, not paint. INK.

Ink doesn't go on even and then dry, it stays liquid and fills cracks and clings to meeting edges, accents texture, and then dries there. The water's surface tension causes it to cling before it can dry.

Using a rust-colored ink, like Burnt Umber, creates stunningly realistic and totally harmless rust. Getting orange ink and red ink, and doing red first then orange second would probably look pretty damn realistic, because the orange would cling around the outside of the already dried red.

Damn right I did. Seen em twice, shook the bassist's hand. He was walkin around the club smokin a cigarette after the show.

They are SUCH a fun show. Get drunk, go crazy. They really cater to their fans during the shows and play the really energetic things. He (Eugene) came on stage with a bottle of wine, and by the end of the show it was empty.

MC is an awesome couples game, especially now that local LAN is coming, she can join you in your single player worlds and you can play privately at her pace.

Try selling it to her like this: "It's multiplayer The Sims where everyone plays as their own Sim and you need to build a home and feed yourself and all that jazz. Oh, and zombies come out at night."

Woah, that ain't cool. I'll give you benefit of the doubt that you were trying to make a joke.

Because we were all kids when we joined, and all kids are idiots. We're still young, don't get me wrong. There are exceptions, of course. Look at Satchmo, he's yet to leave us and he's a doctor and has a child. He also manages to completely stay out of all the bullshit. Coincidence? Nope. He's one of the most mature people on the site.

TL;DR we should all become Satchmo.

Oh, wow, that looks great! The steam page made it look like Generic Modern Shooter: The Line. Is this a PC and console game?

To justify my posting, I have been playing NBA 2k12. Heads up to anyone thinking about it, it took hours to get working at all. It's still not working completely right, but if I play Quick Game mode only then I can at least finish games without it crashing. The steam trailer also looks like garbage. It's a damn shame, because the gameplay camera, when everything's in full-speed motion, makes it look almost like I'm watching a game on TV. After a couple beers it crosses that "holy fuck was that real" line.

I sadly can't suggest anyone get this unless they really love basketball and don't mind spending a couple hours (yeah, you read that right) getting the game not to crash at startup.

this is just how twhl is
Like hell it is! Maybe if Pengy wasn't so merciful with his banhammer we'd have to deal with less bullshit. That thing's collecting dust over in the corner, begging to be swung indiscriminately.
As I said, the original owner either had personal problems or did not wish to take care of the site anymore, and he passed control down to somebody else whom I do not know. Then the same thing happened again and we got Penguinboy.
Yay speculating! You weren't even around back then!

You make it sound as if Atom one day for no reason said "Fuck it all!" and appointed Penguinboy. Penguinboy was working his ass off for this site way before he got any "props" or whatever he gets now, I assume stock in TWHLcorp, a nice office, and a sexy secretary. It was a pretty slow, gradual transition of responsibility from the way I saw it.

I actually cringed when I read the title of this post from the homepage because I knew you guys had been talking. That's really rough on you guys.

Perhaps he was already close to being overwhelmed and reached out to you guys despite that, because something about your mod sparked. He seemed confident it would do well, and if anyone knows mods...

I get the vibe that something personal and taxing in his life is going on, using up energy that he was spending on his site. Lots of things can happen that beat us down and we can't prevent them, I'm sure this is not the last we'll hear of PP, even if it takes some time for him to bounce back.

I'm sure The Core is going to have a great release, regardless.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwF1Q6KbSV8&feature=youtu.be&t=12m15s Skip to 12:30 to see a DayZ player get robbed of his flashlight. Yeah. Gotta love a game where people start yelling things like "Put the gun away" and "Don't shoot" at eachother when they bump.

[edit] Found out why DayZ uses Arma engine, Archie. The creator is one of the multiplayer designers that worked on Arma 2. He's considering a stand-alone f2p version if popularity keeps up like this.

It's true, although IMO when you're running around in the grassy forests and stuff it's actually quite convincing. Pretty much everywhere indoors looks like a 10 year old game, the HDR is absurd, and BF3 has spoiled me rotten.

Hey, maybe someone could make this mod in Frostb- oh wait, right, EA.

DayZ.

If you're unfamiliar with it, it's a mod for Arma 2 that has skyrocketed in popularity. Arma 2, if you are unfamiliar with it, is a military simulator. DayZ is the first zombie game that can also be classed as a simulator. The map is about 250 square kilometers, populated by up to 64 players divided into two factions, (military types and rebels) and anywhere from 300-400 zombies.

It's the shit. It's got a learning curve from hell, and you need a nice rig for the game to look convincing and run well, but man is it good fun. You start with a bandage, a bottle of water, and a flashlight, and your first immediate concern is finding a firearm. Small farm sheds or houses are a good first bet, not as densely populated with zombies as towns are, and your odds of finding a gun and ammo without being mauled to death are a bit better. You have three resources to maintain- food, water, and blood. The goal is to survive the first day. Good friggin luck, you'll need it.

Yup. Over here you don't have much choice because everything's so spread out, walking and even biking to places like work, the store, etc. just isn't even an option.

L.A. Noire

Picked it up plus all of the DLC while it was on sale for seven something dollars yesterday, and man am I glad that I did! Getting it set up was a pain in the ass thanks to Social Club, of course, but man is it worth it! I was thinking about it all day at work today, such a nice change of pace from my typical multiplayer regimen. I'm still quite early in the game, I hope it stays this good.

Graphics wise it's like a teeter-totter. There are moments of uncanny realism, especially in the faces. Then you run outside and realize that the city is spotless clean and the draw distance sucks. Most of the good scenes take place indoors though, and it looks pretty damn nice.

[edit] Social Club keeping me from launching again. First attempt it hooked on "synchronizing" and second attempt the game simply crashes before it even begins. Said to reinstall Social Club. So I did. Crashed. Said to reinstall Social Club.

K.

If you haven't bought this game, don't. At least until it's on sale again. I'd hate to bring the wrath of Social Club down on my gamerbros.

Legitzkrieg!

Games owned: 110

Percentage played: 71.82%

Greater than 50% of my time played is in either CoD, BF, or CS:S according to this thing. Crappy modern shooters got me by the balls man! Sometimes I wish I had invested thousands of hours into practicing a genre that doesn't suck ass.

Also, I have a sneaking suspicion that this thing is way way way way way off. It says I've spent 1.4 hours in Episode 2. It takes longer to beat that and I've beaten it multiple times.

It also says I've spent six hours in Condition Zero, even though I played it for years nearly every day in a clan.

What gives! Lies! Slander!
