If you want other/new weapon from any mod in your mod, you need to code it using Half-Life's SDK. The SDK is writting in C++ so you need some experience on this. If you don't, then you might ask someone to code it for you. C++ is a difficult programming language.

A fgd file only contains entity data, like the color, size and entity properties.

The way how entities works is specified in the game code and the game dll files (hl.dll and client.dll).

Adding new entities in the fgd file only adds a new entity in the entity list. But it won't do anything when you place the entity in your map because the required code is missing.

Make an invisible platform. Put the scipted sequence on it, set postion to instanttuanoeus (Or whatever). With this option set, monster will not have those yellow thingies anymore.

To make a ring laser beam, you need the following entities:

1 env_beam
  • Flags to set: ring. (doh)
2 func_trains
  • Texture: {blue
  • Render mode: solid.
  • FX amount 255.
  • ORIGIN brush attached!
  • Flags to set: Not solid.
Name one func_train "start" and the other one "end" (no quotes).
In the env_beam properties, enter the name "start" in the start entity line, and the name "end" in the end entity line. Set color, beam witdh, stuff like that.

Place both func_train some units away from eachother, try 64. More further space between the func_train means a bigger ring.

Lucky fella's, i recently made a small test map to test die ring effect. And it looks cool. Check out my example map, which is a little bit mroe advanced, because this ring is also moving.

It can kill certain entities. For example, its like a visible beam being turned off. Instead of turning it off, you actually delete the env_beam from the game. Kill_target means deleting, and there is no way to get the deleted entity back in game.

It might be possible to change that in the SDK. In OppFor they did that with the friendly grunts, you can have 5 grunts or more follow you.
