Time to start adding some custom textures, because if you're not including Easter eggs or references to the things you like, why are you even mapping?

SourceSkyBoxer, I don't know if it's translation software you're using but you're sounding awfully obnoxious. It's not cool to laugh at someone for not knowing something. Nor is it acceptable to assume someone is talking to you when they post a tutorial - That isn't even about subject you're proceeding to reply with! Gah.

Anyway, big update on the floating island piece:

If I had to guess, the red light texture is probably in the texture lights file whereas, the green one isn't. If this is true, The green lights texture needs to be added to Zoner's "lights.rad" following the same format as the other textures.

Going to be spurting a lot of truths. Pretty dull E3.

I'll just mention MGS5 as no one else has. It's the only game at E3 that seemed to be doing something different with itself. Pretty quirky game in a serious setting so it puts most people off. "Naked chick, why not" - Kojima. I'm a massive MGS fan so I'm biased.

Fallout 4 is just Fallout 3 with better graphics - Much like Bethesda every year, take Skyrim and Oblivion for example. Looks cool though, not a huge fan myself but at least it gives modellers a new game for nude mods. Tower defense, what?

Honor has potential to be fantastic, combat similar to The Witcher, Dark Souls and that gimmicky, medieval game on Steam. Oh and on that note, DS3 pls.

No Valve, ofc. Presumably, too busy creating overpriced hardware no one wants. People will still buy it though, like a console. Fan boys gonna fan.

Microsoft: Didn't actually show anything worth caring about. "C-can we have some money?". Why does Halo still exist? 1 and 2, possibly 3 were actually quite good. Quit digging that whole. DS3 pls.

Uncharted, a cinematic rail that originally existed so there was at least 1 game made for the PS3.

EA: Battlefront looks awesome. Shame it's essentially Battlefield with StarWars content. Sports =/= card game. Assassins Creed...how many eras are we going to go through before we finally get Bushido era Japan?

TL;DR: E3 should be renamed to "<Title>+1". And, Troy Baker voices everything.

Mod: The Manor

Details: I'm a big fan of horror and I would of loved to have tried and finished it; in fact a snippet of the level design can be found in my caves tutorial. I worked on it for about 4 years, completed about 7 maps for it and I did a little spin-off map for my uni coursework. It was just fun to create.

Reason for cancelling: Rubbish, went through about 3 versions of the Source Engine and it was killed every time. Well...and Source is horribly out-of-date.

As said in the original post, there is quite a broad sense of what makes a boss fight good or memorable. The mechanics, epic abilities and the conquering of sheer power is different to most. My point is, this whole thread is pretty hard to discuss as it relies on too many opinions.

I think MGS has awesome boss fights, Dimbeak thinks Dark Souls has awesome boss fights and ninja difuse thinks that Diablo has awesome boss fights. I would say we need more of a tact when it comes to specifying what boss fights are listed in the top 5; in our opinion. We could maybe limit 1 boss per game or list best mechanical/memorable boss fights. This way it would spring discussion based on more equal comparisons.

Yeah, most of it is Metal Gear related.

1 - Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
This song perfectly sums up all of MGS for me. Just tops the main theme and Snake Eater.
Calling to the Night

2 - Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes
Rescuing someone on your back through spotlights with this playing is one of the best experiences in gaming I have ever had.
Rescuing Paz

3 - Tomba 2!
Childhood, pls.
Pipe Area (Cursed Variation)

4 - Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
These two songs create a perfect atmosphere when either sniping or taking on mass produced RAY.
Twilight Sniping
Father and Son (MGS2)

5 - Borderlands 2 (DLC)
Two songs that give the levels a lot of character.
Hayter's Folly
Flamerock Refuge

Mentions
Machinarium - The Bottom
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - The Streets of Whiterun
Metal Gear Ac!d - Intermission
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - Mission Select
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Old Snake
TimeSplitters - Chinese
TimeSplitters - Chemical Plant

I guess so, if you want to remain playing it. I was aiming more towards having good memories and playing it may dampen that god-like status after playing Oblivion or Skyrim. But of course, that's all opinion.

I have the same approach with MGS1 in that I dare not play it again after playing the others so many times. For me, both series' get better as the they progress. I say this because MGS:Twin Snakes was a remake of the first game that ruined most aspects of it.

Morrowind is a strange one as it's the first game of the true and epic feel of the Elder Scrolls. But seriously, stay with the nostalgia as I went back to it and encountered a "never meet your hero" feel; time hasn't done it any favors.

@zeeba-G: I'd love to do Top5 OSTs. I don't think Top5 songs is particularly interesting and it'd be great to keep it game-based.

IMO.

1. Metal Gear Solid 2

The whole style and feel of this game makes it beyond any experience I have had in a video game. Play through this game more than 12 times and other MGS games included it would count to over a hundred.

2. Timesplitters 2

A game I would call an FPS with taste. It's difficult and it's fun. Besides, I live next door to were the company went bust...got to support the home team, right?

3. Half-Life OR Team Fortress (Classic)

First game(s) I ever modded - That and why everyone else loves it.

4. BioShock Infinite

A huge throwback to Timesplitters for me in FPS feel and the whole play on time story. Had to play through it twice on a harder difficulty just to take it all in.

5. Silent Hill 2

I love horror games so I need one on the list. With horrific controls it still achieves atmospheric perfection and the pacing is ridiculously well timed.

As you can see, the PS2 was my favourite console.

1. Heroes
2. Top Gear (or QI, loved them equal)
3. Game of Thrones
4. REvolution
5. Strike Back (season 1)

Another possible one that could be in there is Full Metal Alchemist, if that counts? It's the only anime/TV show I actually enjoyed when recommended.

1) I suspect that the audio you're using most likely doesn't have cue points so, make sure the sounds/music used has cue points. CS is really touchy with this.

To do this you can use free software like GoldWave. Just open the song in the program and use a button (blue triangle with an ellipses) called "Cue Points". You can then click "New" and type "start_point" as the name, and check that the position is "00:00:00.00000". For the second cue you need to click "New" again and type "end_point" as the name, but this time click the button "At finish". Then just save the file and happy days.

I'm only guessing this is a cue point problem but, it really does sound like it.

2) It's been answered. Basically, GoldSource hates entities being in solid brushes.

3) Download Vluzacn's Compiling Tools (VHLT) and use that sky texture ...and obviously compile using his tools. You're probably using the default compiling tools and tool textures to receive that sky error. This is due to vanilla compile tools treating the sky texture as a liquid making it transparent.
