Yes , I changed "sentences.txt" and that's all.

Oook . all the custom content are models , sounds , maps , textures , sprites , gfx files and that's all right ? Cuz I;m about to reinstall then ......( I hate doing this but uh ..... what can I do )

If somebody knows why I;m experiencing this problem the nplease tell me , I hate to reinstall when I have a lot of things to put back together .

ummm.... it's WON :D

The problem is : I've got a lot of custom content on it ( hl with the mods = aprox. 4 GB .....) and I don't want to delete it :((

I'm almost crying of nerves . It's something strange thought and I hope I don't have viruses .

I'm using COMODO firewall pro and avg antivirus free edition.

can this be a problem with the dlls ?

This is a nightmare !!!!!!!! My halflife1 isn't working anymore ! It crushes the game , and the mods , too !!

IF i enter halflife , after 2 seconds it freezes . And it's staying like that.

In sven coop , I can start a map , but after 5-10 seconds it crushes too , just like hl .

Please , please , I implore you , HELP !

So I can make my own folder with lots of words and make sentences just like this ?

And these sentences can be spoken by certain monsters , right ?

[EDIT} in the map "de_dome" I made a custom sentence like this without knowing it was a "custom sentence" :)) . But I didn't use the sentences.txt , I used ambient_generics triggered by a multi_manager :D .

And a custom sentence , I made on too ( using the sentences.txt ) , recording my voice . I used it in an example map or what .... ( hl in less than 20 seconds I guess ... )

The thing I didn't know was if hl1 has a vox generator or not . Well , unfortunately , it hasn't :(

I think the "left\right" axis movement with the mouse had disappeared on my copy of reissues .

Take that picture as a screenshot in-game . The red line means I can move the view with the mouse on that axis and the pink one means I can't move the current view with the mouse .

It's not about playing it . But I fail at explaining ( horray ! now you can have a big cake because I failed :)) )

Because you didn't read my longest post you don't know what I intend to do , please be reasonable . I said a MOD with example maps and random maps in which mechanisms built in the example maps are implemented , with lots of custom textures , models , sounds etc .... so a mapper could a have a good inspiring source as well as a good custom resources provider .

But , you know madcow , I don't need to now the "history" of TWHL . You know why you can't make a mod here ? Because people like you . Even if a mod is stupid it's fun to make . What the heck ? And somebody with more will can build a better mod and so on .
Remember , your knowledge is garbage while you're arrogant .(i'm not insulting you , but if you think I am , I apologize)

Do you even read the posts ? I said it should be filled with lots of example maps . You don't understand me , I guess . The point is not to be played , the point is to be a custom resources and inspiration source . The mod is for goldsource .And random maps in which mechanisms showed in example maps should be implemented .

And seriously , I know it was "the noob"'s ( the noob ? lol ) idea but i want to make it , too .

If I just wanted to build a story-based mod then , trust me , I wouldn't have asked for help(helping with the mod , not with the problems) in this so-called mapping community with members who often pisses you off .

Fuck source . A game isn't a game anymore . By 2015 we'll play games like watching films . A game is supposed to be a game not a reality fake . And Goldsource offers a lot more challenges than source , I guess ( excluding garry's mod :D :D :D ) .

It's like playing chess or making a sudoku .

all of these are possible without teamwork, leadership and organizing . You only have to have some will . And someone will assemble these maps in one big mod.

if you want teamwork, leadership and organizing , well , I'm in , but only in 2 weeks , because in 2 weeks I finish school and have lots of free time :) .

I can make some textures ( ripping :D :D :D , but sometimes I make some pictures with my mobile).

I can rip some models from sven coop ( it has lots of models ) - of course m we'll give them credit for the models .

I can make some sounds . I like making sounds . I even made 4 melodies . But I'm not that good at looping sounds ( actualy I tried once and the result was promising )

I can make some logos ... with gimp or photoshop (I like graphic programs and I enjoy modifying images using special effects and multiple layers altough I'm not very experienced but there are loads of tutorials on the internet)

And finally I can map .

Oh , I already know some HTML , so I can make a site too ( I know only basic things ... really basic things but I bought a book and I'll learn :D :D )

Remember : All kind of maps are welcome : Example maps ( we should build loads of them , or 5-10 big maps with lots of examples in each one but the first idea sounds better for some reasons ) and random campaign-like maps . and the mod should have a name like "Memories-Like" , or " Resurected-Life" or something like that ( it's only a sugestion , I know the name I wrote sucks :P )

Oh and one more thing : You , experienced mappers , should let the easy example maps for the beginners and try to build something difficult .

I'll even make a list with what example maps we should map .

that's a great Idea . Let's make a mod with random maps . Maybe one in spirit , it's more fun . That way we could have a "map-wiki" . A mod full of examples and fun maps \test maps .

It's not that hard . In fact , I thought at this idea since December 2007 , but I was afraid of asking it in the forums :) :) .

A map that is full of life , animated and interactive but without good arhitecture , well ,it works , but it can be better grin - :D . the hybrid is the best . Try building a hybrid .
Returning to my affirmations , a map full of life can beat a map with a masterpiece arhitecture . Why ? Imagine yourself in a big museum , with extremely good arhitecture and big , but without artifacts , sculptures , books etc ...

Life also = interactivity . Killing monsters isn't always fun . I'm not very good at making tips or tutorials , so here are some ideas :

1.Killing monsters with weapons isn't always fun . Try inventing mechanism that act as a weapon ( and I'm not reffering to the func_tanks , altough they're fun sometimes too) . For example : You're in a train and the train follows a line ( theoretically ... practically it follows some path_tracks) . Why put them near the line and not on the line ? Trust me , crushing monsters is fun .

2. Make monsters kill themselves . An example ? OK : You end up in a huge room with a huge pit . At the other side of the pit there is a swarm of houndeyes . Why not make some scripted_sequences and force them to fall in the pit ? ( in game it'll look like they come after you and then they fall) .

3. When I played Duke Nukem I saw a lot of scenes with explosions that damaged building , earthquakes etc .... try adding these in your level , too .

4. Inspire from the real world , not from other games. Inspire from your own childish fantasies , not from films . This makes your map more original . Example : Make some looped music ( there is a free program , called "magix music maker " and I guarantee it's good) . Find some Cd-player textures . Make a Cd-player and then add triggers , lights , the looped music , and a small sprite and you're done !

5. More ideas will come from my brain ......

Half-life kicks quake 1's ass at graphics and effects , but I doubt it doesn't at atmosphere . Sometimes , quake 1 is like you're there - in the game - and it used to knock me off the chair with it's surprises .

Xen is just a good idea gone wrong - it's shit . It's short .

I'm not lolling at you ... I found another solution for the mechanism , but I can't understand you :
Instead of having say, the top func_train or target whatever, DIRECTLY above the other target, move it slightly forward, by say, 4 units or so.

I resolved it . It was my fault :D . The multimanager resets itself . But at the value I forgot to put the number and the value was "value" which isn't a number . That was my error :D

Another question tho .... It doesn't matter what scale is the null texture , as this won't render the face and won't make the patches , isn't it right ?

I think I know what is this causing then . I have a "engine" and it is composed from 2 pistons (func_doors) . Each piston has a "steamjet" effect . So for each piston I created an env_sound and env_sprite with the same name as the piston . The multimanager only triggers 2 names and itself . The multimanager's name is "steamcontroler" .
